Coventry City FC 's Dion Kelly-Evans has agreed terms for his first professional contract with the Sky Blues.

The 18-year-old defender signs the one-year professional deal with the club after over a decade of earning his stripes in the club's Academy.
Dion, from Holbrooks, has been deployed predominantly as a right-back for the Under-18s and Under-21s sides this season, which serves as his 12th year with City.

Kelly-Evans - who has a twin brother, Devon, also in the Sky Blues Academy ranks - signs the deal with his boyhood club just months after being handed the number 35 shirt during the 2014/15 Sky Bet League One season.

Kelly-Evans has featured in a number of positions during his Academy days, and found himself on the bench for the first-team at numerous times during the side's battle for survival in the third tier of English football.

The twins are ready to make an impact with City Academy manager Rich Stevens said: “Dion is a player who will give you 100% all the time.

“It’s great to see a local lad make it as a professional and Dion has worked extremely hard to deservedly earn a deal with his boyhood club.”
Sky Blues Under-18s coach Jason Farndon added: “Dion is a really aggressive defender and has been a key part of the side this season.

“It’s been great working with him on the training ground, he’s such a hard-worker and that hard work will see him go far.

“It is important that Dion realises the hard-work continues ahead of the upcoming season and hopefully he can impress in pre-season and catch the eye of the manager.”

Two of my grandparents were twins and my missus' dad is a twin as well as his dad. I'm pretty much resigned to it now :(

Midfielder Devon Kelly-Evans agrees terms to sign a one-year professional deal with the club...

Coventry City midfielder Devon Kelly-Evans has agreed terms to sign a one-year professional deal with the club from July 1st.

Devon, who has been at the club for 12-years, is a lifelong City fan having grown up in Holbrooks.

The 18-year old had an impressive 2014/15 season, where he played in every position for the Under-18s side apart from goalkeeper and as a result was handed the number 39 shirt.
