It will be sorted. The issues there are primarily down the to fact that all traffic passing through Tollbar has to use the roundabout. The bulk of that traffic (A45-A46) will now go through the underpass meaning that traffic on the island itself will be much lighter.

...and anyway, I think there will be access direct off the A45 and via the flyover that goes towards Ryton.

That would be the case if any major development at the Airport site, be it the airport itself or a football ground. When the airport tried to expand when Thomsonfly were there part of the proposal for the new Terminal was road access off the A45 coming round on the land that is behind the holiday inn

Because no fucker can get there, might have escaped your notice but 90% of support comes from within the Coventry boundary and most can't be arsed to go to the edge of Longford to watch us so who will bother with a rural hike to Baginton village, no-one unless we are the new Barcelona. Club would be dead within a couple of years. In fact just in time for Coventry United to climb a couple of more leagues and pitch in for the vacant slot at the Ricoh !

I know about 15 people who have been, all free tickets, who wont be going back. I dont know anyone who goes regularly.

If the stadium was built at the Siskin Drive end it is walking distance from Willenhall. It is closer for me than the Ricoh that includes Cheylesmore, Stvychale, Finham, Stoke, Binley, Willenhall, Whitley and parts of Wyken. Great idea, and certainly better than some of the rumoured sites. I'm with shmmeee, Coventry enough for me.

Hmm, people do have cars, and there are regular buses! The A45 links to the M1, A46 (M69) and M42, and people can't get there?!?! Plus a lot of people from South Coventry can't be bothered to hike to Longford, however Baginton would be much more accessible for us.

Oh yes there are buses ! One an hour service bus i believe, so okay for matchdays lets increase that to, well lets be generous 6 an hour for ...mmm 2 hours whats that about 1000 if full, half of which will have to get there upto 2 hours before kick-off. Remember the glorious travel plan for the Ricoh, lasted about a year didn't it. Perhaps we could build 2 new stadiums one at Ryton and the other Eastern Green and use them alteranatively

I'm guessing a large number have been to CCFC games in the past 3/4 years, whether they are still active attending supporters of the football club I'd guess that number is a lower.

Just an observation I've made from looking through here, other social media sites and the telegraph comments, a lot of the new Wasps supporters rarely talk only about Wasps. Its always how great Wasps are in comparison with CCFC and SISU.

Agree to an extent. Ccfc needs to win the fans back but I would also say that ccfc fans could do the club a favour by also boycotting wasps.

to suddenly stop going to Cov to watch a totally different sport and a franchise team parachuted in from the capital, I just don't understand it at all.

The club don't need these type of fans who only turn up if the owners are nice and who talk to the council, any bloody excuse not to go so f**k the lot of them.

we need to build relationships with the youngsters in the city, get into the schools, youth clubs etc and give them a couple of games of free tickets and soon enough they will be dragging their Mum/Dads up again. Throw in a shirt if they go to twenty games and hey bingo we suddenly have there undying support,plus their parents,siblings who decide to go with them.
passionate supporters don't suddenly up and leave when some new franchise comes rolling into town.

The site is far too constrained for space. There is no parking and no ability to create parking.

Think it would take more than a few quid to buy it and then quite a few more quid to make it suitable. Nice idea in terms of the location but cant see it myself. Do Cov rugby even own it?

Unfortunately the trend is for out of centre stadiums. If we went to bagging ton it would have the same advantages and disadvantages that the Ricoh does currently. Personally I would still class that area as Coventry. Can't see Sisu building a new one though and therefore We are at Ricoh for the foreseeable.

FFS its not like the Ricoh is in the Alps! It is very easy to get to and probably better parking that HR ever was.

For me Baggers is the most suitable site we have, that is easy to get too (as long as they sort kamikaze island out) and there is alot of space to develop.

Biggest backed attendance wise and financially but hardly successful at the moment. Even with the England call ups they didnt get many out of that long long long list that Lancaster has made!

Having said that, the priority was to secure the stadium and then phase 2 will be the team so that could change. We need to start matching that

Only the club does need them. If anything these "wishy-washy" fans are doubly important. If you can get them returning to CCFC it puts money in the clubs pocket, if you can get them coming to watch CCFC instead of Wasps you're also taking money out of Wasps pocket.

There's not that much parking at the Ricoh and getting there on public transport can be a mission. I'm not convinced that the majority of the crowd are walking there either.

Its nonsense to talk about the transport links or lack of public transport as it is now. The key will be, for any new ground in the city or not, the club putting the right things in place to make it easy for fans to get there.

From my extensive research (aka a quick look at Google Maps) I can't really see a potential site for a new stadium anywhere close to the city centre unless something really radical is done and a lot of existing buildings knocked down.
