Wilson missed 2 months 1 jan to 2nd March (7 matches), and despite his goals we won just 2 of the remaining 14 games of the season with Wilson, baker and Moussa all available. I can't remember Moussa refusing to play.

I agree that we can't say he will never be a good manager but at the end of the day, he had 1 good half of a season in 2 years.

Astute are you not shooting your self in the foot with your last comment, any manager in the division would of been affected with losing 60 goals / 20 assists out of their team mate, any team would of been ripped to pieces like we was.

I could tell at Bradford away the opening day we would struggle last season.

Two seasons ago, Pressley did an adequate job but we MUST remember pal and I am not sticking up for him in any shape or form here, he kept us up against all the odds on a -10 points deduction with the circus carrying on around him, surely that in its itself rewards just a hint of praise.

This is what I am saying, I'm not saying that we should of kept him or that he was better than TM, but that credit where credit is due, he kept us up, should we have kicked on this season? possibly yes. But was he still limited in his ability to manage? Yes. Started season at sixfields, not in charge of transfers, arrival of wasps at Ricoh. All things which made his job difficult and to say he will never be a good manager is harsh, as he has shown some ability.
However ofc he has to take some blame for signings, and tactics, but he at least took the blame on and he didn't shy away and he didn't quit despite all of the difficulties. He could have jumped ship like Robins, but no he genuinely tried to help this club and the way in which our fans abuse him is harsh and imo wrong. Maybe he isn't as good as TM, maybe he did make shit signings, maybe he didn't get the best out of all his players. But he did at times get the best out of some players, he did get things right and he did save us from relegation.

Wilson was going nowhere or was Christie until Pressley gave them man management and encouraged them. Our crop of youngsters were under his charge and they all speak so highly of him. He is, in my mind, one of the best under 21 coach/manager I think I've ever seen. The problem for him, at club management, is you have to work with older players and they don't like being told what to do. Nearly all his successes at City and in Scotland were coaching the youngsters and if I was a premier manager I would bring Pressley in to manage the youngsters. When you look at the season we are just finishing it was the older players who let SP down.

Think the jury has to be out on Pressley - Although many have made there mind up with the numerous threads telling us how bad he was- Some fans including myself think that working under the circumstances that he did (sixfields ) a 10 point deduction and producing a decent competitive team- then the team disbanded completely within a short period would be challenging to any manager in Europe- If he had managed to keep the team and actually added a few names and tthen playing back in our home city where would we have finished and where would we be now

Any side starting on -10 have a hard start so the bookies won't offer big odds. But they also didn't know how potent our strikers and midfielders were going to be. So pressley got the best out of him? It doesn't matter how good a player is unless the system suits them. Shown by benteke at Villa, something like 2 in 26 under PL, however he has 12 in 12 under TS, proving it depends on how the manager sets up and proving SP got the best out of him.

2, With the amount of players he brought in he must have had a decent budget. - A budget based on cut backs and one in one out it was not top 6-8 like waggott likes to make out

- Even TM has seen straight through the recruitment set up at CCFC and ensured their would be changes pal. I have it on concrete authority, I only like to deal in facts not speculation, pretty much like when I correctly advised on here CCC where doing the dirty on the club regarding the Ricoh Arena and correctly advised on here months back Waggott was doing the wheeling and dealing which I am sure has come out since.
