Every, and I mean EVERY sporting organisation has at sometime during it's tenure either suffered, or encouraged corruption or at best been 'compromised' by such activity whilst in office. THIEFA on the other hand, are a whole different ball game.
Time for a new start, me thinks. Europe needs to rally that call, right now.

Yes that`s the thing. It`s the same as the problems with performance enhancing drugs in the Olympics and Tour De France over the years. When just about everybody is "at it" the only way to have a chance of succeeding is to do the same. Doesn`t make it right of course.
What you say about England`s attitude is also probably true, and I think the US is only acting out of sour grapes at the way their bid for 2022 failed. But whatever their reasons I`m glad to see all this coming out now.
I`ve` got real doubts over whether the European countries would pull out of the world cup over Blatter although I`d love to see it happen. There`s just so much money involved I can`t see this happening.

The world cup in Qatar is the one to pull out of. They want it to be played in October as it will be like their winter then and only too hot to play. But it would get in the way of football seasons all over the world so it won't happen. So it will be held in the desert heat. It would be bad enough just trying to watch a game in those temperatures. We have to fear for the safety of the players though.
They also said that they took 150m in bribes to have it held there. Maybe that is why the stupid decision was made to play in the desert. Because there must be one. Even the players from what we consider to be a hot country won't be able to handle the heat.

Not intending to be argumentative, genuine question; what has he done for international football in South America, Africa and Asia? Your statement is anecdotal.
As the most powerful man in world football, surely you would expect him to have 'done more for international football than anyone', it is his job. It's a shame he forgot he also has a responsibility for Europe. I am sure it is nothing to do with a lack of Oil Barons or Billionaire Prince's.

There was an interesting interview with Mark Palios the other day. He suggested that Blatter would be re-elected despite the corruption as he had support from African and Asian nations where corruption was simply regarded as part of life and not a problem. It seems he was right.
I would love to see UEFA split from FIFA and organise their own tournament in 2018, inviting CONMEBOL to take part. The world's top nations are all in Europe and South America, the rest have no chance of winning the World Cup. (Remember us being told 40 years ago that an African country would win the World Cup by 2000.) FIFA need Europe, they have nothing without it. The sponsors' money would drift away and force the changes needed in the world game.

Imagine how much Blatter could have done for these countries if the money was distributed correctly when it got there not on things like chuck Blazer's 10% and his 18k per month flat, just imagine where it goes when it goes to some of these African countries. Of course the African leaders love him he funds their lifestyles, he has no interest in giving money to the bigger nations as they have nothing to give him back unlike the votes in Africa that keep him in power. Spain and France should be ashamed today voting to keep him.
Blatter may not be taking back handers but maybe he doesn't need to just remember his salary is not disclosed so I could be almost anything as nobody can stop him.

Has nothing to do with England. Has to do with Billions of Dollars, bribery and corruption. He has blagged his way through several crises and allegedly made sure lots of money flowed to projects - without stringent checks - in countries who would vote for him. Plus FIFA itself is non-profit making, but consultants, agents, advisors, marketing firms are ( such as his nephew's firm ). Many are nothing more than a PO Box address in a tax haven - who knows who is behind the companies - and is Sepp checking? How much does he earn? He sets his pay and nobody knows how much that is. His daughter has a nice job at FIFA. Most of his cronies have been suspected of corruption. Read up on FIFA, there is enough public knowledge to force the resignation of any CEO - but FIFA is a non-profit organisation ( a club ) and there are enough people milking it ( world football ) to keep him in power. Who wants transparency? - certainly not the people supporting Blatter. Blatter will accuse us of sour grapes - so what. Let's hope he gets arrested shortly. Someone will squeal to get out of a 20 year sentence in the USA.
Jack Warner says the difference between a bribe and a gift is that with a bribe, you expect something in return. I think he and others treated England's goodies as a "gift" and not a bribe as it wasn't enough and not in hard cash. Hence we lost.
