Are you choosing to mock those who claim we need to own our own ground? Do you agree with Ranson'a decision not to purchase the Ricoh when he first brought sisu to the club?
That was the SISU man at the time Igre Omre's decision not Ransom, if you are to quote get your facts correct.

Does everyone fail to see that without someone doing ALL the work (i.e. Callum Wilson) Leon is not all that great. This for me is why he failed at Wolves. He's an up top poacher, not an out and out goalscoarer ala Wilson.

Having seen TM`s views on the importance of a player`s attitude I have a feeling Clarke would not have fitted in with his vision of the kind of team he wants to build.

He failed at Wolves because they signed Dicko at the same time and he was first choice. He is a 20 goal a season striker when he's played week in week out at club in this league:

Oldham 3 goals 5 games
Southend 8 goals 16 games
Chesterfield 9 goals 15 games
Charlton 0 goals 7 games (6 were subs)
Scunthorpe 11 goals 15 games
Coventry 24 goals 35 games

Then wolves 1 in 13 (9 were sub apps)

I don't remember Wilson playing for those other clubs.

RR didn't have the say on what SISU should of done in regards to the ground,, SISU had the say, in fact they wanted promotion first, then decide if buying the ground and selling with the club was worth the quick profit turnaround.. Anyways how does a post about Clarke signing for Bury bring us back to this,,, OH yeah ,, every fucking post goes backl to who was to blame... It does not or will ever matter whos fault it was,, we are in the shit and now need owners to get us out of it..

Yet more myths about Ranson's demi-God status.

So what exactly was Rason's role in running the club? Nothing? He has as many apologists as Thorn. It is interesting that some are still so keen to defend their master while forgetting that he is the one, along with Joe Elliot & the council, who were so keen for Sisu to come to this club in the first place. Elliot was certainly keen enough, going round to shareholder's houses in an attempt to get them to hand over their shares for nothing. I am also sure that sisu were the council's preferred bidder as well?

He is an average championship striker. Wolves were a Championship club. There is a big difference between championship defenders and those that we play against. He always does well in Division 3 but struggles in the championship. And he only played with Wilson with us.

Do you mean like we have SP apologists?

Igre Omre?

Bit of a coup for Bury that, I'd have happily had him back in a shot. Bit of a knob, but I'd rather that than a useless saint.

Not good enough for the 1st team but I would have him on the bench

When we play Bury we will need to score 5 minimum to win

Ryan Lowe - Always scores against us (Tranmere Hatrick in that embarrassing loss at sh!tfields springs to mind)
Nathan Cameron - Ex Player syndrome
Chris Hussey - Ex Player Syndrome
Leon Clarke - Ex player syndome

Potentially a good signing for Bury coming into League 1 but it will be interesting to see how Clarke gets on because he could be past it now. I am glad that TM hasn't looked at him because for me, it shows that Mowbray wants the right personalities and attitudes at the club and although Clarke was professional here until he engineered a move away, the fact that he's been at more clubs than I've had hot dinners isn't great when your trying to build from scratch.

Players returning for a second term are rarely as effect as in their first term. He has strengths but also has weaknesses. Not too concerned he has gone elsewhere.

Exactly mate. For as much as Ranson was a egotist, he always wanted to be CEO of a good, successful Football Club. I believe he meant it when he said he was going to "Make available £20m to take this club forward" but SISU "Stitched him up like a kipper" and consequently have "Stitched up" all CCFC fans since. Just for balance, so have CCC to a degree.

Good old teflon Ray. A lot seemed to think that the 20M was for transfers, but, if I remember correctly, was invested across the whole club.

Erm....wasn't the Tranmere game you refer to, quite a few years before we went to Sixfields??

You haven't seen me call Ranson anything of the sort. He's got "Skeletons in the closet" like most people and will eventually pay for it. Show me where the £20m was invested across the whole club??? Nowhere near that amount was spent, they even remortgaged Ryton after approx 18 months ffs!

Clarke was quality but never sure on players returning. I think he has found his level in L1, he did not perform even with Dicko starting there. Good luck to him untill he plays us!

I would've had him back, but it could well be that he wanted too much (or for too long) for it to fit in with TM's budget. TM needs to sign more than one player over the summer, presumably. ;)

Or he simply doesn't like him as a player.

It's always a bit annoying to see players that you think could do a job for us go somewhere else, but I'm learning to live with it. I would like to see us sign someone though.

What really grates on me is the late signings followed immediately by the 'hasn't had a full pre-season' excuse that we've heard so much over the years...

Bury owners are right behind the club and want to push for promotion this season and are willing to offer long term contracts. We are a feeder club for Bury by the looks of things !! Just goes to show how far we have fallen !!!

Yes, definitive feeder club. Clarke, Edjenguele and Clive Platt ALL went on to play for Bury

looks like they will have a decent striker force next season...

Port Vale's out-of-contract striker Tom Pope, 29, is a target for Bury, recently promoted to League One. (Stoke Sentinel)

They could end up with the same problem we had. Two good strikers but leaking goals as the defence was non existent.
