Tudgay expected to sign (8 Viewers)

Not really news but I think he may do well under Mowbray with a stronger squad around him for service.

Not a bad start if he does. At least he seemed to want to play and try his best. He had a hard time under SP. But so did most of the squad. We did see enough from him to make it look that he could be good in this division as you said Nick.

Coventry City

Tudgay joined Coventry City on a one-year deal on 29 July 2014. Tudgay quickly cemented his status as a fan favourite at Coventry City with a series of convincing performances as a centre-forward. After failing to score in his first 10 appearances for the club, Tudgay scored a wonder-header against Walsall having missed a penalty earlier in the game. That goal was celebrated with a playful 'shushing' gesture that was taken in good faith by Coventry City fans who had taken 'our Marcus' to their hearts.

Tudgay's playing style at Coventry City has been described as a 'false 9', his imperious link-up play and deceptive movement have proven too much for most League One defences. Whilst his goal tally is not currently as impressive as his overall play, it is only a matter of time before Tudgay will take League One defences by storm. Sky Blues fans are desperate to see him succeed."

Good player. Get him signed up. Clean slate for all players that under performed under Pressley for me.

Absolutely hated him the first half of the season, warmed to him as it went on. We did seem to miss him near the end of the year, which I never thought I'd end up saying.

I said it before, under a proper manager, a proportion of players who were poor under SP might flourish under TM. Tudgay could be one.

Not good enough if we want promotion this year IMO

He has played mainly in the Championship. I would hazard a guess that he has a better record in it than Clarke has. And we all know how good Clarke is in our division. Under SP he played in a team that didn't attack. It seemed that the idea was to hold onto the ball and not go forward. We will not play that way under TM. Our strikers will get chances to score. And once his confidence is up I would guess that he will score from all over the pitch.

No issues here with him having another chance. Wasn't a star for the majority of last season but let's face it, who was? Improved 'once the anchor had been lifted'.

Certainly a decent player to have in the squad. Look to bring in other players, most likely have him playing those games where we need to hold the ball up etc, i think its a sensible, if not exciting move.

Wait and see then, IMO past his best.

We need the experience and he appears a good role model for the younger players.

Looks like Mowbray's priority at the moment is signing up those already here who he wants to build a squad around, offered Chris Stokes a deal, now Tudgay and looking to pin Reda Johnson down, don,t be surprised if Nick Proschwitz gets a deal also, think TM was impressed overall with him. Remember we need a squad and to keep senior players onboard otherwise we can end up with too many newbees, we've been there before.

NP is no longer with us...went back at the end of the season. Definitely shouldn't be considered if we're looking to build a promotion squad!

I'd be amazed if we re-signed Proschwitz. Unless it's to wear the number Nein shirt

I don't think we will sign that useless Brentford player. Tudgay brings experience. The team needs 4 strikers to get out of the league. Fatigue and injuries need to be covered.

But Mowbray did seem to go out of his way to praise him and i thought he did improve to be fair, but obviously there was the lack of goals, having said that with a bit of luck he could have had half a dozen in the time he was here. Like i have said Mowbray is having to build a squad, one to get us to the right end of this division and then push on from there. He needs two strikers imo to go with Tudgay and the emerging Maddison, don't rule out the gerry.

He has already gone though. TM was limited on who he could bring in last season. He joined late in the season and already had too many loans in. Now he has a near clean slate to start on. He likes Reda, Tudgay and Stokes. He is in talks over several other players. The German has not been mentioned at all. He needs a mixture of youth and experience. I would guess it will be experienced players he brings in now on contract and maybe loan a younger player or two from one of the big clubs that needs games. And there are quite a few of them.

I for one will be very happy if we secure Tudguy.......think he has unfinished business with us and will do well next season.
Would definitely be happy with him as part of strikers squad.....be interesting to see who TM brings in round him
having chucked out majority of rest of deadweight strikers from last season in clearout!

I'm starting to like TM as he has a logical mind which is different from other managers we have had in the past. Many new managers would look at Johnson and Tudgay and say, 'they have been injured so often we don't need them'. But, Mowbray looks at it differently. He says 'when these guys are fit what good can they do?', and 'they are established professionals surely they don't need to train the same way as the youngsters, so they won't get injured so much'. Logical. Same as anything in life. If you expect everyone to be the same then problems arise. It you treat everyone differently then everything is manageable.

Not a massive fan, but if TM like him, I'm happy to trust his judgement.

Not sure I like the idea of bringing in players around Tudgay he is ok as a impact sub to throw on or play sometimes but we will need better faster players to make the top 6.

Strikers have different strengths. One of if not the best striker I have ever seen play for us was only quick over 2 yards. Give Tudgay a chance with service. Even Wilson struggled at the end of his time with us under SP. Under TM we saw a different player. How about writing him off after he is playing with players that TM brings in.
