Capital One Cup (8 Viewers)

The last game of the 2014/15 season only took place on Saturday (Champions League Final) but already the fixtures for the new season are about to be released. The League fixtures will be released next week, but our first game of the new season, the Capital One Cup 1st round, will be revealed on Tuesday 16th June. Who does everyone want in the first round? Premier League teams dont enter until the 2nd round and teams in European competitions dont enter until round 3, so i'd like a trip to Leeds or maybe Luton. As long as its not a League 1 side. And just a quick update, the club have confirmed via twitter they expect us to be in the Southern Section for next season's JPT

You know what, i really dont care about this cup at all. I would prefer us to go the the JPT as we have a more realistic chance of success. League obviously takes priority

Any shot of a trip to Wembley has to be taken seriously by a 3rd division club surely?!

Yeah, it's bottom of the priorities list for me too. I'd like to do well and all, but meh.

Its not exactly high on my priorities either. We always get knocked out early. The FA Cup and the JPT are our forte, but its at least 1 extra game in our season

Any realistic shot at Wembley... JPT is more realistic than league cup.

Bottom of the list for me too.

It would be nice to stay in it long enough to get a premier league team and a decent payday but personally I'm more excited by the JPT. We at least have a chance of winning it.

I agree that the League Cup is the lowest priority, even more so than the JPT which does give us a possible Wembley opportunity. If you get through in the League Cup and draw a decent Premier team, chances are they will send their reserves who will still be too good for a Division 3 team. No wonder attendances are so poor in these competitions these days.

The JPT has all the appeal to me of the Zenith Data Systems Trophy. A competition that is meaningless and should be consigned to the scrapheap.

Yeah. We all know you're a glory boy who only jumps onboard for the big cup games with big premier league team's in but personally I'd love us to win it.

All cups this season are important. The lesser cups are the ones we can go a long way in and raise needed funds. The bigger cups give us a chance of getting a big club and a big payday. I would prefer us to get a big club away with a big payday than go far in the JPT and bring in much less money.

Is this your because I'm not a season ticket holder I'm not worthy line?

No but in all seriousness anyone planning to go to more than 11 games next season will pay less by getting one.

No brainier really. I miss a lot of midweek games but will still pay less and have the luxury of my own seat confirmed if we ever have big crowds.

Oh and also first dibs on a JPT final.

Not bothered at all with the early rounds of any of the cups. It's all about the league and a cheeky day out if we get further than the 3rd rounds in the cups.

I'm with you on that.

Well I'm the opposite of you. Midweek games are far easier for me than weekend games. I think I only did 4 Saturdays last season and I'm pretty sure I didn't miss a midweek game regardless of competition, price or opponent. With the exception of the Cardiff game as I was in Menorca. Even went and stood on the Hill for the Barnsley game. If I could do weekends more I would get a season ticket but I can't. So I commit to every game I can physically be there for.
