Bury splashing the cash (7 Viewers)

You are. Someone says they will bet anyone that he won't score 15 goals. I take him up on it on behalf of charity. You then ask me to have a bet with you but you want to put added rules into it. You say that I keep going on about him being a banker to score lots of goals when I didn't.

So what is unbelievable? And did you want the charity bet or did you see it as an opportunity to play silly games?

I said on my first post league goals.

I assumed as you quoted his league record at Scunthorpe that was OK. You clearly believe he will score goals as you bragged to Harvey where to send the money.

Frankly your Hubris is amazing. When I first posting - stating league goals - you started some nonsense about me earning more than David Cameron and then in every post goaded me about it is only for charity

When I stated what I thought was a very fair bet (acknowledging the fact he may be injured) you start going on about he might not get the service, or he might get injured or (oddly) his penis may fall off.

You seem to be only interested in winning the bet rather than charitable intent.

The thread is centred around Clarke being a valuable asset which we agree is around 15 goals a season. However, scoring 4 against Harrogate Railway in the F A Cup and another 4 against a reserve line up in the early League Cup round and then 7 in the League is surely not success

By the way the conditions I set -- how many times would you have had to pay the money?

Is that right?

I would be donating what I bet whatever. I will be donating even more than that. I have lost a few relatives to cancer recently. One was my dad last August. My sister has a very aggressive type now.

You say about crap teams. I had said that teams below our level won't count. But as usual you choose to ignore and use the point against again. Well done.

How about cup goals against non league clubs and Division 4 clubs don't count? That seems to be what you are worried about on a charity bet.

Here is the post you pretend wasn't made.

How many times in his career would you lose the bet under the terms I suggested?

Most years.

Just forget it. Go play your silly games with someone else.

Actually never - not once in the history of his career would you lose the bet.

So the odds are massively stacked against me.

Which is why it's a perfectly reasonable bet.

As JWM says perhaps Bleakin or that bloke from bury will take it up.

FAO astute: as far as I'm concerned, my bet with you is £20 - Leon Clarke will not score more than 15 goals in 2015/2016 season. Doesn't matter which team he's playing for or against and I'll give you all comps.

Makes you wonder what sort of person would jump in on a charity bet that has been struck then try to change the rules doesn't it :(

Why do you have to lie to hide even more lies? Just keep digging as usual.

I said Clarke has to play 30 games in the season. Your stats prove that in league one the only time he has he scored the goals.

I fail to see why this is hard to understand.

Sorry I didn't know there were rules we all have to abide by - your rules no doubt even though my very first post said can we have a bet on league goals only.

The irksome thing is you immediately jumped on my post with the pitiful prime minister jibe and telling me to up the ante.

The fact my "rules" actually from prior stats give you more chance of winning than his seems lost on you. You've even proved it with the link.

Incredible. Just incredible.

Find one season out of your stats that show I'm wrong. The only time he played more than 30 and scored less is in one championship season.

The idea of a charity bet is that someone wins and someone loses. You have put so many rules into the bet that you want that the odds are nobody wins. So the losers are charity. So yes you are right. Incredible.

You yet again mention 'my' rules when someone else made the suggestion and I took it up on behalf of charity. You know this.

Irksome is you constantly having a go at lower paid people when you said you earn a six figure sum. Most of the time you are nothing but irksome.

And you love to question whatever I and many others say even when you know you are wrong. Clarke is now in his 30's. How many seasons under the rules you want to change would there have been a payout for charity?

He doesn't want the bet Astute, he just wants to prolong his irksome debate.

If you look at his response to my first post he accepted it - then backtracked.

You have constantly accused me in prior posts of being wrong and that you would lose most times.

Find one season that you would have paid out and I will pay you the £40 now.

As for earning a six figure sum wasn't if you the other week that was giving it large about looking at a £56,000 sports car as your next purchase?

Your now even questioning his age!

I surrender.

£40 same "rules" as the other bloke or I pay up now if you find a season.

What a load of utter shite.

If I make the bet I will pay out even if I win. So how many times would you have lost in all the years a player in his 30's has been playing?

I said I am on the lookout for a Triumph Stag. £56,000 sports car? Then you make out that you know about cars :D

Where did I question his age? Is me saying he is in his 30's questioning his age? The question I asked was how many times would you have lost the charity bet in all the years he has been playing. Strangely enough you still have not answered but tried to say I was questioning his age.

No need for same rules. You was upset that Clarke might get to play in a cup against a team lower than ourselves. We won't count them goals.

And why keep mentioning 'the other rules'? Harvey wanted a bet with anyone that thinks he will score 15 or more. I took him up on it. Try rule. You are the one that brought up divisions played in, cup games, amount of games played and whatever other diatribe you thought would be good fun.

So do we have 15 goals or more not counting goals against lower division teams? If not just forget it.

How about you both agree to disagree?

I have said a couple of times to agree or forget it. Not many people could cause such a disagreement on a charity bet. He has done well with that. If it wasn't for charity I would have given up a couple of days ago.

The disagreement centred around your inability to agree with my original statement and a plethora of justifications.

I have already said I agree to the conditions.

Have a concern you may forget - your memory seems to be deserting you - you seem to fail to remember your assertion that you were considering purchasing a Tesla Model S - a £56,000 sports car.

I said I would love one but they are no good to me at the moment. I did say I was looking out for a Stag. You will know this as you have been looking at that thread. I also wouldn't buy a new one. As you know I have stated before that my newest car is a 03 plate. I suppose that it is also doing 'the big one' as you call it.

The reason I would look into one would be the cost savings. Fuel costs me at least 5k a year with all of the mileage we do. Just had a new MOT on one of my cars. It had done 27.5k since August. Then with an electric car you get free road tax. So getting rid of 2 of my cars for one would save 1 lot of insurance and two lots of road tax. But like I said whilst I have 3 kids at home there is no chance of having one. It is a people carrier for them. When I can have one I will get one for vastly less than you say and then save up to 5k a year. Will pay for itself in a few years. My people carrier runs on gas. 54.9p a litre. I bought it for £620 and then spent about 2k doing it up last year. Already made that much back in savings. And I still have a car worth 2k :p

So plethora of justifications? Do you mean you wanting to change 1 simple rule for many others?
