Ray Ranson top bloke in my eyes - such a shame some of his plans never came to fruition - where would we be now

Yeah, but what has that got to do with Lionel Messi invading the Falkland Isles?

I guess this is purely and simply a wind up. Is this a new stance by the site to get reactions or is it someone who supports another team? Either way it's pathetic.

It happens alot on here. Believe or not there was some guy on here the other week asking for SISU's contact details because he was putting a bid together to buy the club. I mean really, how is anyone supposed to take that seriously when they say they're smart enough to put a bid together but not smart enough to get a telephone number. 118 got your number.

Was referring to the write up in the telegraph and his version of what was going on behind the scenes and the peanuts we could have purchased some now top name players and the selling of our top players -quotes such as 'If I had been given the tools, I could have got Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Jack Cork for less than £2m,”

I would say that although not fantastic Ranson was far better skilled that the people we have had since when you look at Orange Ken and the pair of arseholes we have now.

He is not going to be saying these things if they are not some truth in the story,, Sisu would be sending nasty letters to him reminding him they batter people in court... Either way RR did know and does know more about the game, business and recruitment than anyone since the arrival of Venus.. For me RR biggest error was to seek a promotion off the back off Sisu investment alone.

He should of pushed for money to be placed into a bid to buy the Ricoh from day 1, while running the club in a sensible manner to prove SISU were capable owners and worthy partners in ownership of the Ricoh.. Instead he sold a dream to Sisu about money on the field will guantee promotion, therefore the option in that senario would be open to sell, buy 100% or run the club in the prem.. Sadly RR didn't get it right or SISU were not going listen and wanted the option to sell at the highest price if the dream came true..

Greed on a gamble has left this club in a terrible position and all parties aswell as all individuals have some blame or responsability to share in the current state,, Sisu have 2 options now, sucess on the field or walk away, they will not care what standard or level we are at, just aslong as they are not paying for the ownership rights....As for RR he will say onething Sisu will say another,, what people have to decide is how much power did RR really have if he is to be judged on his tenure...

Haha point taken. But Tony it was a real bid. It's the group who are going to take over Northampton. They were serious and they wanted to be based near Coventry because they have some connection to Tata.

I believe, had he been backed by Sisu, CCFC would be in a very healthy position today.

No way were Henderson and Carroll ever coming here on a permanent basis. Both were sent out on loan to get experience before going into Sunderland and Newcastle first teams

Up there with Joe Elliott for me. Have them back tomorrow.

I'd certainly bow towards them while singing I'm not worthy. I feel sorry for both of them; they were both tricked by the evil sisu and their lives ruined.

Can you imagine Ranson as Chairman, Joe Elliot as President and Andy Thorn as manager? We could even find room on the board for the Hoff again, we'd be in Premier League within 2 seasons.

Backed with what? Funds for yet another failed manager? Or how about 3 on the payroll at the same time which he managed during his highly successful time here.

Backed to the tune of say £5 million for one player? Well that's how much Ray forked out for Eastwood in transfer fees and waged even though McCarthy practically shoved him out the door.

When he came he said we'd have a small squad of young players developed for sale at a profit. He struggled to make any profit on Dann and Fox and let the likes of Westwood run down his contract.

He signed the likes of Wright, Morrison and Beuzilin who hardly fitted the philosophy and sanctioned Richard woods signing on ludicrous wages.

Backed him? They should have sacked the clown after season one and sent Coleman and thorn on their way as well.

Why didn't he back us rather than Cardiff?

Seems he is a top bloke because he said something people want to believe?

The fact that some are praising the very man who brought sisu to club says it all.

It's very easy to judge with hindsight. I suspect he was told, as we were, that they intended to invest in the club. I very much doubt they told him that they intended to starve the team and play a long litigious game to try and take the Ricoh for free.

To be fair they did invest in the club and he managed to waste most of it on crap players and an even worse manager.

And he left when promises were not kept. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Yes and there were others apparently chucking their teddies because SISU were allegedly not following the plan. It's debatable weather its down to SISU bottling it, or RR getting his strategy wrong - we will never know if RR was right, only that SISU were wrong.

His plan was to make money for Ray. That seemed to work rather well.

Never particularly trusted the bloke. Trust him as much as Hoff, Elliot, SISU and the rest of them.

I've always though it was dodgy how he managed to persuade QPR and Fulham to take Borrowdale and Gray off our hands for transfer fee's, despite both players being on loan at the respective clubs and not making a single appearance before being signed permanently, something definitely weren't right there.
