Mowbray in talks with Sam Ricketts (8 Viewers)

I would rather have Rickets. Reda has too many issues for me. Not turning up for training sums it up for me. He will either be playing for us or someone else. No reason not to be back at it while his agent sorts things out.

Reda has worked with Mowbrey, Mowbrey has said he thinks he can help him and sees him as a key figure. It should be a straight forward decision, he has had plenty of time. I think his mind is elsewhere and using us as a safety net. He isn't on board or focused on our cause. Reda has too many if, buts and maybe's for my liking. I would bin him and I think Mowbrey will once he has looked him in the eye today.

Ricketts and Reda in the back 4 would be brilliant. Two experiences defenders, I would be all up for this

The fact that Reda has said I'll leave it to my agent to sort means it's about money. He will want the best deal for him and he doesn't really have any affiliation with the club. Not bothered if he doesn't sign. However, Sam would be a massive coup and a guy who has led Wolves to promotion out of his divison and a captain.

If he said he'll leave it up to his agent, then I read that as him being ready to sign and his agent will sort the cash dollar. But to be fair to the lad, after the was Pressley treated him he probably isn't that bought into it all. Hard to disassociate the actions of the clubs manager from the club itself, I guess.

Really can't see it being a case of both, with Willis,Martin & Webster (is he still on our books!?) then Harries winning rave reviews would be 6th choice.

Webster has gone but is training with us. Nothing unusual there. Both Rickets and Reda can play in more than one position and are better than we already have. If we could sign both of them and they both play most games we would have one of the best defences in this division.

Thought he had then half read something about him training yday.

But Johnson & Ricketts would be possibly 2 of the top 3/4 highest earners in a position where we have adequate cover. (If we have 1 of them).

Just think a CM & 2/3 strikers are more of a priority at the min than both Johnson & Ricketts.

Funny that was thinking about the situation with him a few days ago weren't sure if he signed permanent for Swindon lets hope we can get him and Reda sorted

Would like to sign two centre backs, just worry how it impacts the likes of Willis' development. Of the two would rather have Rickets than Reda.

Yes, true. If we could get both that would be excellent.

Agree with that, but this begs questions about whether the budget stretches to both and the effect on the strategy of developing younger players to sell on (nothing wrong with that if you get a bit of mileage out of them before they move on).

good quality player at this level and is exactly what we need to get us out of this God forsaken division

A real leader as well not like the current captain who hopefully soon will be the ex captain.

Can't see it being both, could we even afford the wages for both? Suspect Ricketts is being lined up as a potential replacement for Reda.

Well there's the possibility of getting Pennington Back so could have Pennington - Ricketts - Reda Stokes as our back four :guitar2:

If we get Pennington back (can see him going on loan to the champ) he should be our first choice CB & for any reason not play at RB is wasted & not natural in that position. He's a CB all day long!

Are we all forgetting Phillips?

Phillips Pennington(hopefully) Ricketts (same as previous) and god knows at left back as they are both weak.

I thought penningtons natural position was RB?

Ricketts would be a good signing but losing reda's goals would be a big blow, especially given we have a goal shy midfield.

Don't worry Fleck is due another goal sometime in the next 12 months.

Comment of the day about the interest in ricketts comes from the CET Comments page -

I like the thought of Reda and ricketts with willis playing CB alongside one of them. You need a steady experienced head, that would work for me. Doubt they both would play reg but a break now and then be good.

I like the thought of Willis sitting on the bench.
