The price Wasps bought at was cheap for a stadium with a team in it.
The price probably reflected the value without a team.
I think the JR documents detail this.
With the history between CCC and Sisu, Wasps would always win a similar bid.

Maybe Wasps will go to the Kassam stadium now London Welsh have vacated it. :whistle:

Those still defending Wasps and the Council are a disgrace and we as a club are better off without them as supporters.

If SISU calculations are right and Wasps calculations are baloney then the stadium will fall into SISU's hands, won't it?

No it will go into administration and revert back to the original lease.

Nice try though.

Oops Sorry, I didn't realise you had to agree with Grendel to make a contribution on this thread.
Which of my points don't you agree with and if you can put more than 4 words together, why ?

I can put more than 4 words together but history has shown its a waste of my time as you are beyond reason.

The £195m deal is a meaningless headline.

It's heart-warming to know that the community asset is owned by a Maltese hedge fund and indebted to a number of faceless bond holders. If that wasn't enough it's the home of a franchise rugby team and its catering functions are run by a company who specialise in zero hours contracts.

I've moved on, realised I can't change the past (or future) and just enjoy my sport.
If it makes you feel better, continue the fight. Whoever you are fighting ?

So glad wasps sorted the station! Which is how it will be put across

They will have cured all diseases and eliminated starvation in the world by the end of next week, the Wasps Telegraph can't get enough of printing their propaganda they must rent a bit of space in that dreadful rag.

Yes you are right. You need to make up of those who refused to follow their team 80miles away.

Already made up. :eek:
According to the ticket office yesterday they have already sold 50% more than total for last season and expecting a boost when fixtures are released today.

So they've sold 3,700 then?

How many of those had watched a game at Wycombe before they moved here? What is the % increase/decrease of those that had ST's in Wycombe?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - so please excuse any spelling or grammar errors :)

When SISU were attacked for rejecting the rent agreement one of the main reasons given was that the club were trying to get the Ricoh on the cheap. In fact in went further than that;

· The Ricoh was a community asset
· The Higgs Charity had to have their money back. In fact it was a moral outrage that anyone would offer them less. Not only that many “experts” claimed a lower offer was not acceptable as it breached charity commission rules
· The Ricoh had huge potential earnings. Anything less than £12 million was an insult and would be unfair on the poor Coventry tax payer
· The F and B revenues were sold by the club. An outrage to include this in the price, the club has to buy them back at market value.

A lot of the emphasis on this was the immorality (and apparent illegality) on the charity side and also the need to protect an asset from being undersold and so not fully benefitting the tax payer.

Well fast forward and we find the lot was sold for under £6 million.

The disturbing thing we then find is that, according to the local media, it is worth a lot more than that.

· The £6 million is now over £45 million
· The F and B is magically £195 million
· The basket case, (sorry the “washing its face” case, is a thriving business

What slightly confuses me here is why those very same people who were so adamant that this asset should be protected for the people of Coventry – all the taxpayers – now seem to have gone a little silent. Surely the taxpayer has been ripped off haven’t they? Do these people not care anymore?

Can you someone advise me why these people seem to have changed their stance?

Many of us have not changed our stance in the slightest. But we all have had to change what we want to happen as this debacle has continued to go wrong for our club. What I wanted.....and have said many times......was for CCC to keep hold of the Arena until whoever was running our club was seriously interested in it. SISU just took the piss. They wasted as much on litigation and taking our club out of Coventry as what they could have got it for. The reason being was they didn't want a mortgage left hanging over it. Fisher even said so as the deal was going through with Wasps. Unemcumbered? Then we are supposed to blame CCC alone for not offering SISU the same deal.

So Grendel you say about people changing their stance. Is the Ricoh still a white elephant as you kept telling us? Or do you agree with the values you have just come out with? :thinking about: Many of us didn't agree with you. So you got on with your normal name calling. It lost it's short term value when they pulled us out of Coventry.

Anyone that says CCC are innocent can be counted as deluded.

Anyone that counts SISU as innocent can be counted as deluded.

Anyone who constantly tries to blame anyone but SISU and constantly says things to try to make them look innocent whilst saying they once said something against SISU is absolutely deluded.

Or are you getting a bit worried that most on here have had enough of your stupid arguments on here and won't have any more stupid arguments with you?

Not gone quiet at all. The stupid arguing with you all the time made piss poor threads and were just rehashed threads from previous.

Oh one other thing about that link, wasps don't seem to be idiots so why have they extended the compass F&B deal for 15 years? I realise ACL had/have a stake in compass but if F&B is so bloody important and Timmy kept harking on about it, then surely it makes sense to fuck compass off and do it all yourself...why extend the contract for 15 years. wasps surely must be making a decent return.

....I summarised the whole thing ages ago, but for those at the back who were too busy comparing their cocks:

Lucas & CCC = 2-faced lying cunts.
ACL (old)= lying incompetent cunts.
ACL (new)= bullshitting spin-doctor cunts.
SISU= lying incompetent litigious cunts.
Wasps: carpet-bagging opportunistic franchise cunts.
CT= wasps PR & apologist cunts.
FL = toothless cunts.
Bryan Richardson = massive massive c**t
Mike Mc Gin & T = another massive c**t.
Andy Thorn = useless fat c**t.

As Trevor McDonald rightly said*......."cunts...the lot of 'em"

* he didn't really.

The place I work for takes on temporary workers not with an agency but on their books and at the same rate as the permanent workers. So it can be done where it is run by themselves. The problem is that Compass will pay their staff less but have a big pool of staff. It is also a lot of hassle running it all. So Wasps can make money without having to do the work and concentrate at what they should be doing.

That Compass deal isn't just F&B is it? Isn't it to manage, staff & run all the events, bars, etc. etc.

I'm glad you agree with me, as at that point CCFC will definitely be the only game in town.

Wasps Prospectus said:
Under the terms of the head lease granted by Coventry City Council (“CCC”) to Arena Coventry (2006)Limited (“ACL2006”) in respect of the Arena (the “Head Lease”), CCC have reserved the right to forfeit theHead Lease if ACL2006 becomes insolvent. Insolvency in this scenario means a situation where ACL2006becomes unable to pay its debts, has a receiver/administrator/provisional liquidator appointed over its assets,has assets seized in order to pay debts of ACL2006 or has a winding-up order made against it. The effect offorfeiture would be that the 250 year Head Lease would fall away and that ACL would then become the tenantof CCC at the Arena for the remaining 38 years of its existing lease. However, the right of CCC to claimforfeiture of the Head Lease is not an automatic right. If CCC made a claim for such forfeiture, this could becontested by ACL2006, any third party that held security over ACL2006 and any subtenants of ACL2006 bymaking application to a court in England. Further, if an administrator was to be appointed over the assets ofACL2006, then CCC would not be able to forfeit the Head Lease without the consent of the appointedadministrator or with the leave of the courts.
