SSN he says you can miss out of players in this league for a few hundred quid because budgets are so tight.

CET talk about he main target being missed for a few hundred quid.

Williams signed for Scunny because he lives on that area.

Story has been twisted

We are now losing out on players to Scunthorpe for money reasons? That shows how far we have fallen

Player would also not need to relocate by choosing Scunny, do feel bad move though by the player in terms of ambition and club stature, however, he had a good loan with them last season and was well liked by their fans.

Came to us when recovering from injury and we never saw the true player.

Just a bit dissapointing thats all if firstly that's the player we're targeting and Scunthorpe are a more attractive club than us now

So who would you want us to be targeting, TM knew all about Williams and his stregths, and a fit Williams is a decent player at league one level, remember we are league one and he would of been a target like many others.

Onto the next one.

Can't find a video but here's the interview

Coventry manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed it has been a challenge trying to lure players to the club this summer.

Mowbray is still working hard to strengthen the Sky Blues squad as he aims to gain promotion from League One next season.

The club are hoping to sign former Hull City, Bolton and Wolves defender Sam Ricketts in the next few days.

“We need to be at the top and of the table if we can this year,” Mowbray said. “Good players are what does that.

“It’s been difficult to sign the players I’ve been trying to attract. Two reasons I suppose; the finance is one, the budget hopefully will be reasonable competitive in this league and yet it’s not going to be the top budget.

"And players of a certain quality, all footballers want to play as high as they can of course, so lots of footballers would hope they are going to play in the Championship and earn and Championship salary.

“As time rolls on we have to be ready to try and pick the best players to try and get the job done to get us in the Championship.

“It is difficult, as I’ve found. I’ve spoke to a lot of players over the last couple of weeks and seen a few drift off for a few hundred quid more somewhere else.

“But ultimately, come the start of the season we’ll have a team, hopefully a very competitive team.”

Mowbray was speaking at the launch of the club's new kit for next season, based on the strip worn by the victorious FA Cup Final team of 1987.

Scunthorpe outbidding us doesn't necessarily mean that we can't compete with them financially. It could just mean they were willing to spend more on a player than we thought he was worth and he's ended up going there.

Is that a few hundred quid a week, a month or over the season?

If it is per week then it is not surprising, over the season then there are likely to be other more significant factors that swung the decision.
