RUMOUR - Sam Ricketts To Sign Tomorrow (2 Viewers)

Don't most/all footballers leave the negotiation stuff to agents? Isn't that like an agents main job?

Of couse, but if Mowbray has offered a contract to Reda, before July too, and we're still waiting, it doesn't bode well in reda's commitment.

If he does sign, great, if he don't then great, we can move on.

Would be nice to have a pre season with a team already assembled.

i would have thought RJ would be perfectly capable of negotiating a contract,
the statement that he is leaving it to his agent smacks of shifting the blame if things don't work out,
imho agents are nothing more than leeches

For the details and legal stuff they probably do but there's a difference between a player saying I want to sign for Cov, sort it out and saying stall as long as possible in case I get a better offer.

This is just speculation though, right? Sure, it may be a sensible guess, but that's all it is, isn't it? Just seems people like to get angry over speculation and fabrication.

I was talking in general not particularly about Reda as obviously I don't know what is taking place behind closed doors.

That said if TM wants him and he's not signed or in training it would seem he's stalling, so my guess would be he's waiting for either us or someone else to offer him better terms but keeping us hanging in case that offer doesn't come.

Ah-ha, exactly! But this is also Reda, which means he's probably injured!

I don't see people getting angry, I see people asking the right questions, considering the enthusiasm and hype for this season already (which at present is unfounded), just getting our out of contract players to sign has been rather pathetic, never mind new signings.

So... we make our first major signing the day after the early bird offer expires. Is this...
A. Genius
B. Idiocy

Well, maybe over thinking this however making good signings while ST prices are cheaper would bring more in surely?
