McSheffrey was championship level at best and was found out in the Prem where he only played a handful of games.Couldn't do the business at Leeds and Forrst who also sent him packing. Sad thing is that he was given a foot back in the door when we shouldn't have touched him with a barge pole. Couldn't even score a penalty towards the end of his time here but for some reason is still treated like a god because he comes from Coventry.

That was due to his injuries. We shouldn't have re-signed him he wasn't the same player we sold, yet people still expected the quick left winger who would score 15+ and provide 15+ assists per season. Funny really even as an elder statement he managed to out score and out assist our entire midfield last season.

And to be honest, I don't know what's wrong with producing a player who is a good enough to play professional football in the second tier. Man city produced Nimley - where's he now?

Should probably get him back then. Seriously though, that says an awful lot more about the division than ourselves.

I think he was in a comfort zone 2nd time here and don't doubt he had injuries as well. But I think he is playing for contracts a Scunthorpe....all the signs of an Indian Summer for me.

I don't disagree. But because we haven't produced a Champions League legend, Adge thinks that we should shut down the academy and lol of our players have been crap.

But Adge knows Sweet FA as his posts prove.....our Academy is doing fine. He probably thinks CREWE shouldn't exist as a football club ;-)

And there you have it! Thanks for reinforcing my point-How many players have Crewe sold and said players have cut it in the Prem? I can think of at least 10 off the top of my head. And that my friends is the difference between a good academy and ours which produces dog turds on the whole.

Does it really matter how many players our academy produces and that go on to play in the premier league! As long as we get a gem that brings in a million or two every couple of seasons it maintains its self. Surly it should be measured on how many we use in our first team at what ever level we play at at that time or players that we develop to go on to have a full time professional career in football.
