He's already playing in the Premier. Can't see why he would switch to Villa. Would have thought only one of the big clubs coming in for him would tempt him, but then of course, money talks.
I wouldn't begrudge him a move there. Better chance of making a name for himself especially on the international scene (although I get Vardy got his call up while playing for Leicester).
I don't think he'd be disloyal signing for them, whether he's a Cov kid or not. safe to say though if he did, there'd be no #CallumWilsonDay
It's the same old story - money talks. I don't begrudge him playing for Vile, but it doesn't make it any easier to handle knowing he is a Coventry Kid.
Exactly right, is it 25%? So if the fee is 12mil let's say that's 3 million for us. Better players and some of that would be issued im sure. Mowbray would see we are due 3 mil say and be banging at the door. I hope is anyway. I would be.
Wilson would go probably as closer to Coventry and I would think villa would double his salary to bournmouths.

I doubt Bournemouth would get the whole fee upfront and any sell on clause kicks in about what Bournemouth paid for him so we wouldn't get 25% of a whole £12m transfer fee, if Bournemouth paid £3m we'd get 25% of the £9m, still substantial, but like I said I doubt they would pay the whole £12 up front anyway.

He moved his young family down to Bournemouth just last year would he want to uproot that again?
bournemouth could always offer a new contract, they have the money, and so villa would only be able to slightly beat wages.
would he be afforded the game time at villa? He is going to be the star man and Bournemouth, at villa if he doesn't score for 10 games he will be dropped.
Why do we care where he plays? He seems like a very nice young man and I wish him a successful career no matter where he plays. If Villa offers him the best opportunity then sobeit. I support CCFC; I don't dis-support any other clubs
Bournemouth will finish higher than Villa this season. I live in Bournemouth and trust me that are a very good side who will do much better than Vile will.

I'd love for to them to do well but can't see it. They are gambling with their future really, does the owner decide to spend money and sustain them in the PL or hope to stay with up the current squad whilst losing their best player? Problem is they could end up spending a lot of money and tumble back down the divisions again and wouldn't have enough revenue to sort it out. I'm sure I read that Bournemouth made a big loss last season already which must be a bit worrying

If they stay up just one season, new TV rights come in next year and any debts they are worried about will be wiped away, it makes more sense to invest heavily now in the playing squad which tbf they have been doing.
Like the way we benefited from his transfer fee, the finacial joke that SISU are will ensure that this will not go to TM to buy or player, fund short-term loans / contracts but not to pay cash for a striker in demand / in form , cast offs from other clubs.
Should Wilson move we, we being sisu may get 25% of the fee as said, Mowbray will be lucky to get anywhere near 5% of that 25% for team building that money will be bound for the sisu coffers.

I apologise for starting a sarcastic thread about an article in the ever reliable Daily Express linking Wilson to Villa, which is just about to turn into SISU orientated thread. Sorry guys.
No surprise that he's wanted by other PL clubs. Scored at Villa Park in the cup (first ever Cov kid to net there) and ran their defence ragged. I remember Alan Hutton looked as solid as a rock and nothing got past him until Wilson came on. Within 20 seconds of his introduction Hutton had been booked for bringing him down as he couldn't handle him.
Must be said that when Matt Richie came on a few minutes later, with Arter feeding, they made the Villa defence look like conference players. Wilson scored late on but they could've easily scored several before and a couple after it. Yes Villa aren't the best Prem team and it was a single game but from what I saw of them at other times last season with a few additions they should be ok.
To sustain their position and progress on fro it they'll need to make the ground bigger which won't be easy down there. I could be wrong but I get the impression the locals aren't the sort that would appreciate the town being flooded with 30,000 football fans every 2 weeks. GGT will know more than me on local politics and views though obviously.

Fair play to him if he goes. Big club, probably more money which will set him and his family up securely. Closer to home.
Loyalty has nothing to do with it. Let's be honest if he was dog shit that season under pressley he'd have been forced out like everyone else he didn't like. Wonder if people would have started a thread saying how disloyal we are as a club...
