Have some faith ....14 - 15k followed by 18 - 19K if we really are still there by the end of the season. Trust me. I remember when we were good.

We wouldn't, a couple of bad results and attendances would drop regardless of whether we are still up there and then it will be typical city, not paying to watch that rubbish again, can't even beat Fleetwood and the usual overreaction we get. And then when we might get on a good run again attendances will creep up by a 1000 or so until the next defeat and the cycle continues.

Not any more. Big Tony will break the cycle of woe.

Just back to the thread title - I don't really get what this poll is trying to say. Seems to me its just a shitty filler from Sky Sports, probably penned by some bored closed season hack, that in reality means sod all. You can make most stats say anything you want if you try hard enough: maybe we aren't filling a huge percentage of the Ricoh...but if the same number of fans turned out had we been in Northampton, we'd have had 100% gates with a load having to stand on the hill; and we'd have topped that poll. Maybe we should play at the Butts this season, just to keep Sky entertained.

Well they'd have been more on the Hill than the protest year but not much more - sixfields with a couple of thousand extra is ample for our regular fan base.

We've had too many false dawns. Think we'd have to be top 6 around Easter for the possibility of the play offs to start having a significant impact on attendances.

I would agree with that unless very entertaining football was consistently been played. Then it may happen sooner. I know in the Boothroyd era mentioned earlier the football was dross to watch.

Yes let's return to the pass in your own penalty area never have a shot at goal and lose the game by a single goal as per thorn.

Top trolling.

I couldn't care how we play as long as we win, play to our strengths and the opposition weakness rather than trying to be barca

I still think entertaining football and in the top six will bring the crowds back quicker. Than one nils victories as a result of long ball football. Just a fact of life.

Ah ok so it's price, owners, the style of football and also being in the top six that need to all happen to reveal our fans potential. Ok then.

As I always said fans attendance is affected by a multitude of factors.

As it is when buying a season ticket. Of those factors for many a harsh reality of life Price will be the most powerful factor for your non die hard fan. Closely followed by optimism for that up coming season.
Bradford = cracking price + lots of optimism

I saw an interview with Ranson on SSN, and it all sounded so familiar. He metioned that Boothroyd has a certain style of play which is fine when you are winning, but not so good when results start to slip. He also said he had recieved complaints from fans over the style of play, and that gates are on the slide. It is a criticism that has been directed at Boothroyd before, so maybe they should have done their research!

I was so glad when Coventry took him off our hands. We were so boring to watch last season. Even though our form has been more patchy this season it has been so much more enjoyable to watch.

I'm optimistic for the coming season and I think we have a cracking price.

Did Boothroyds brand of football attract more or less fans than Thorn?
