Surely it's a location in Greater Birmingham if the Coventry hating Lucas has her way isn't it?

If this is pulled off you can't really continue with the ann hating surely

Are you serious? To even suggest this would have anything to do with that silly non entity is an embarrassment and a joke. Any normal city would have exiled the loathsome women into oblivion at the last election.

I see there is a petition calling for the entire council to stand down. Of course it won't happen but if there are a lot of signatures it will send a message. Cov needs manufacturing and Aston Martin need to build cars....without interfering prime ministers or incompetent even if well meaning councillors this would be a no brainer. Hopefully all will see sense and Coventry's proud tradition of car making will get a new lease of life

I don't get why if a company opens up or moves and creates jobs it is down to the council?

Right. Were the council similarly responsible for Jaguar and Peugeot upping sticks and costing Coventry tens of thousands of jobs then?

It's ridiculous to imply either, in truth.

The council should be doing everything they reasonably can to keep jobs coming to the city, that's one of the things that I'd expect. It doesn't give them a free pass on the other stuff I'm afraid.

All politicians like to take credit for the hard work of others and none of the blame for their own mistakes, its in their genes I think.

Which has nothing to do with Aston Martin. Still the thought of Tata talking business with Lucas is vaguely amusing;

Ratan: I'm looking to expand my business empire and I want to include Coventry in the equation.

Lucas: well, love, that's bloomin marvellous but is the business up to much?

Ratan: sorry I'm confused. I control a multi billion pound empire

Lucas: I'm sure you do chuck. But does it all wash its face?

Ratan: sorry, this is ridiculous I'm going over to Birmingham which is run by serious politicians with vision.

Lucas: oh no need to be like that luv. Look you stay here. I've got some lovely hunky rugby players outside - they are what make the city what it is now. Come on luv what do you say?

Oh he seems to be heading north in his car.

I don't get why if a sports club moves in or moves out it is down to the council?

This is Wasps, right? That was down to the Council because they sold them the Ricoh - you might remember the deal, it was in the papers and everything.

The difference between Wasps and Aston-Martin is that most everyone would accept that AM coming here would be a good thing. There's no issue with morality (AM isn't a franchise sports team, obviously) and they're not damaging one established local operation and limiting the ambitions of another. There's no question mark about the Council selling assets under value (or at least making stuff up about their profitability) to Aston Martin to get one over on, say, Jaguar. They haven't publicly promised to build trust with another local firm, say Jaguar, only to secretly do a deal with AM.

Do you get it now?

If she's such a non entity I guess you don't blame her for the sale of the Ricoh to Wasps?
