I started as a central midfielder, I would get up an support the attackers, but I would also drop in to the position of whichever defensive player had gone on the attack. I could pass and was comfortable on the ball. I grew up admiring the great Glenn Hoddle and so I modelled my game on his style, but I could also tackle too, so as far as City midfielders go I'd say I was most like Lloyd McGrath when I t came to tackling because I was fearless, but I could play a bit too, so a mix between Lloyd and Chris Marsden (he of the too short loan spell).
I was asked to play centre back once, and I was so good I didn't play another game in midfield. Bobby Moore was another I admired, which is why I like players who are comfortable with the ball and don't panic when under pressure. I'd say I was a bit of Peake and Babb, good footballers who didn't panic. I was usually good for 10 goals a season from corners. I'd hand around pretending to mind my own business between the half way line and 15yard box, but once the ball was crossed in I'd move forward and snap up any clearances, and more often than not my long range shots nestled into the back of the net.
