We haven't kicked a ball this season yet , so lets also stop with the Mowbarys done this and that, we are .where we are because of sisu , the new season starts next week , lets just wait and see what happens

What you dribbling on about this time Wince? Everything I said about Mowbray are things he has already done. Not speculation about the coming season, not heaping praise for things I think will happen. 'Done' like 'in the past'. But I need to stop talking about that because we haven't kicked a ball yet this season?! More like you can't fucking cope with the lack of things in the last 3 months to blame SISU for and anything that accentuates that further is likely to cause your head to explode all over your stained SISU OUT bedsheet.

Mowbray comes in, 2 months before the end of last season, keeps us up and signs for 2 years. Releases a deadwood list that no-one sane could have any arguments with. Then goes and shores up the defence, buys (with real money) the defensive midfielder we've been crying out for for several years and brings in experience to balance the exciting youth coming through while being open and honest the whole time about how hard it is to get decent strikers in and that we have to be patient for the trickle down effect of PL squad announcements etc. All this after performing near miracles with a squad we all thought was destined for certain relegation.

But no, not enough for some of our fans - despite the plentiful reasons to be optimistic and get behind the best manager we've had for years on the first year of his 2 year rebuilding project, we're not committing to Mowbray because SISU haven't let him sign that shiney exciting household name striker yet for more money than Wigan can afford.

And if we do get some loan striker in, and he doesn't score 3 in his first game wearing winklepickers instead of boots and having glittery tits, diametrically opposite mechanically rotating nipple tassles and a sparkler in his arse then I'm gonna boo the radio which I'll listen to the match on. Boo. Booooo. BOOOOOOOOOO

Love it, well said!

Imagine what would happen if we won something or got promoted. What could people be angry about?

Im not dribbling , signing a two year contract, well , how long was elvis contract, that means nothing ,shores up the defence , well all the goals conceded in pre season have been poor defensively and that a fact, being open and honest about being, on the one hand skint but still spending millions on court cases its not something to celebrate , of course im glad we have mowbray , but like all the other managers before him , what he has done in the past counts for nothing , if you don't think sisu have brought us to this point then that's your opinion , but for too many pre seasons now they , have all been the same who ever is in charge , manager starts off saying one thing , then as the weeks drag on slowly turns back on what he said , until you could go back and almost copy the last 5 managers end on season speech to the pre season speech to the start of season speech and they would all be almost the same , all I said was wait and see

You are dribbling - absolutely oozing with miserable negativity.

What has the length of Pressley's contract got to do with anything? We got Mowbray in after many were worried we wouldn't at all.

If you think a central defence of Webster and Martin is better than what we'll have this season, then you're even more bonkers than I thought and using a couple of errors in pre-season friendlies is scraping the barrel.

Who gives a shit about how much money SISU choose to spend in court when it's independent of the club finances?

Mowbray's stance on what he wants and what he's got hasn't changed throughout pre-season.

“We haven’t got money to bring in any superstar players but we will look for the right blend and balance of footballer that can make us really competitive and enable the supporters to look forward to a season at the right end of the table." May 18th

“The secret is to find the right ones, get the balance in all areas whether that’s strength at the back, a competitive edge in midfield, speed up front or on the wings, put them all together and create a team.” May 20th

Coventry City boss Tony Mowbray admits his bid to draft in new strikers is slow going but he remains optimistic that he’ll get his targets over the line before the big kick-off against Wigan Athletic on August 8. "“I wouldn’t say I am up against it, just working hard to make things happen,” said the 51-year-old who, ideally, wants to recruit a permanent front man as well as a number of attacking loan players. “It will come and I’m sitting here pretty confident. It might take another week or so but that’s OK. July 24th

I countered the OP with his 'same old shit by the club' statement - a statement you're clearly buying into and scratching around for things to justify it with. It's not been the same old shit from the club this pre-season, but it has been the same old miserable shit from a small percentage of our fanbase and if i need to 'wait and see' then the same applies to them.

The halving of attendances is why we have a limited budget. I agree with that.

As a result of mistreating of there customers on top of very poor customer care imo as a result.

Surely you could agree to that too.

Though I have to say there is a slight light at the end of the tunnel where they are actually listening to the fans now, which I suppose is a good sign.

I'm not going to condemn the doubters after all the previous misery and I'm not going to vilify the eternal optimists either. At the end of the day we all crave some success, that is the collective goal. The constraints on the clubs finances are frustrating and annoying but we are where we are and whether it is achievable or not Mowbray will be striving for us to compete and entertain. He's no miracle worker either though so we've got to hope we get off to a promising start and reawaken the interest of the casual supporters and there are thousands of them.

even with 3 loans we wont be a team full of them. this is how to use loans imo. sprinkle a few into the squad with attirbutes to help the club.

This is the third tier of English football and we are a club which is run by owners who don't give a toss, so what do you expect?

Stick to playing on your Xbox and signing players for Barcelona.

Here's a thought...as the season hasn't started yet, why not get behind the manager and players? Ok, if we are struggling as the season goes on, then have a pop, but to do it now shows you up to be a bit of a tw8t IMO.

Carry on having a go m8 and i will find out who you are and you can tell me i am a tw8t to my face !!!!

And if this meeting does indeed happen and he calls you a 'tw8t' to your face, what are you going to do exactly?

We could have 7 loans for all I care the important thing is you secure the player for the season rather than changing the team every 2-3 months

Tony Mowbray wants to bring in five new faces - and he's willing to pay cash

we sign Lamerias

27th July
"finances mean that we are looking at loan players"
http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-city-set-bring-new-9734639

I don't find that a contradiction or an about turn though, if the articles are actually read - they're more a supplement to the way he's been thinking all along. He's got control of the pot, he's known it all along and it hasn't been changed or reduced.

'The 5 new faces and he's willing to pay cash' is exactly the sort of bullshit reporting we have from the CET these days and I'm quite sure some of our pessimists only read the headline and wonder why we haven't signed 5 players for money.
What Mowbray actually says is:

Asked how many players, ideally, he’d still like to recruit, he said: “It’s very difficult for me to say I’d like four or five more because one of those might cost a lot of money and then we won’t be able to afford three or four and we’ll only get one. That’s the balance I have got. Do I get one really good player or three untried players who look like they have really good assets."

My own personal belief is that he still has some money left in his budget but he won't spend it unless the right player is available. So he's getting his loans in and then he'll blow the rest of his budget on a small fee and wages for McLeod

Is that during or after the school holidays?

If it's after then will your mom let you come out if you haven't done your homework?!

Calm down, you buffoon, and stop bouncing around in front of your bedroom mirror.

I think he's trying to be polite and avoid swearing. It's not allowed at school, you know, you don't get to go on the end of year school trip if you use swear words.

I think I have worked out who you are, your that bloke of the radio who presents the phone thing on a Friday....

why don't you just post the block and seat number on your season ticket, then he could come to you? Just a thought.

Not needed. I live opposite the Devonshire Arms, and drink in there. He can meet me in there. I'm usually in the bar in my wheelchair so I won't be running away
