Cooke saves us once again with a great save (didn't look to get anything on it but ref gave a corner with no city appeals).

Lawton loses possession we have atleast 3 back against their two, their man twist and turns gets into the box, shoots low and hard and is put just wife following the save

I for one am buzzing for the countless threads declaring our season over, when we lose to Wigan on the opening day

Expected more, was a poor game, Cooke did well in goal, expected Lawton to be more dominant, very impressed with Cian harries, nothing going forward

I agree although as it was a young side I'm not overly concerned. Had it been our first team, I think I'd be jumping on the doom and gloom bandwagon that came onto the road after last nights game :D

Think I've seen enough of Cooke to want him to be number1 for the season, although I understand Mowbray may not want to take that risk. Although he looks better than Burge, I think Mowbray will go for experience, and Burge just has that over Cooke after last season. Leamington fan behind said he was impressed too.

Harries does look good, but still raw. definately one for the future, or even the JPT possibly. Leamington fan behind us rated him also.

Devon Keply Evans impressed again getting up and down the wing well. Wasn't much of an opportunity to do much though as the outlets weren't great.

Neither striker set the world alight. Plant was probably the better of the two if I had to prefer one of them, but seemed quite lightweight and being short that doesn't help!

From that, albeit my only pretty season game, my observations were that the Keeper was good, Lawton and numbers 6, 10 and 11 good. Haynes the pick of the bunch and the only one who should be near the first team at present. Aaron Philips too small to play centre half and numbers 4, 7 and 9 were dreadful. In fact if 9 makes the grade I'll run naked through the streets. He has pace and quite strong, but can't control, pass, tackle or shoot!
