TM that is... and I'm talking about his bottle not his testicles (although I'm sure they are high quality)
For holding his nerve, not panicking, doing it his way and playing the waiting game despite increasing pressure. Respect.

Yeah I agree ! Easily to rush in on first names you get, but when working on his budget I suppose he has to be careful. Nigel Pearson was very good for that at Leicester. Never rushed in even in the premiership to sign players.

Couldn't agree more. Will probably be a nediocre to bad start to the season, but TM is trying to build the best team he can by waiting for the best players. Can't complain about the quality of his signings so far. Obviously thhe biggest challenge is getting decent forwards on a limited budget - but that is what he is holding out for. I am a little surprised that our pre-season has gone as badly as it has...

I'd certainly like to think this is the case but I do have a niggling doubt. TM has his defined budget and if it all goes tits up in the first few games, I just wonder if he might walk suggesting he was given empty promises. Sorry for being so cynical but I'm too long in the tooth not to look at worst case scenarios.

What is with this unwavering faith in a manager who's record has been nothing other than bang average? I'd love to be proved wrong but personally i don't believe the lack of signings is due to TM being composed and holding out

Will you still have that same respect if we are in the bottom 6 come Xmas?

You've really caught him out there. He may be forced to admit that he's a person with the ability to change his mind about a subject.

The fans response to Waggot's comments in the Telegraph were scathing on the whole and still demonstrates that thousands in this City will likely never return to the football until SISU have finally gone. Mowbray was their huge coup and they thought that his signing alone would attract back the missing.............it appears they were wide of the mark.

Yes, astounding that he has the strength of character to be able to ignore a load of old hotheads on a forum.

Why didn't SP have to do the same?
comes with the job some will like you some won't and some will put up with you.
I personally like him but don't believe we will reach his full potential due to the restraints he has.Same as SP really.

Thats the problem isn't, I've seen signs over the last 6 months that the club are trying to build bridges with the fans. If these were owners without the history that SISU have they would probably be widely praised but because of the history and the damage they've inflicted its a case of too little too late in the opinion of many fans.

I'm afraid they have burnt their bridges with many and only a period of sustained success or a glamour tie will reactivate that passion.

I will still respect him for taking this approach but my opinion of him as a manager may have diminished. (obviously)
