Constructive, friendly comment: Really love that 87mint has written the review and committed to write a blog for the entire season. However the style of the review reads like Russell Brand and nameless 1970s NME reviewer's lovechild trying to get in extra long words and metaphors. You're clearly a bright guy but really bright people dismiss showboating for simple effective prose. Still love that you are doing this.

Good write up. Some funny parts and it's interesting to read about your experiences surrounding the games. Anyone complaining about you being verbose should invest in a thesaurus.

I really appreciate the attempt at a write-up. I used to look forward to those !just got back" posts thst nobody seems to do anymore that include observations on the place, fights, stewards, no of SBA etc., as I can't always get to games myself.
If 87mint is considering becoming a professional wordsmith, he/she may do well to limit the rambling prose, but it's also a fair assumption that he spent much of the day in pubs and is therefore pissed, so I forgive him.

Really? I think he's a complete knob. He tries to paper over the lack of a well-thought through argument by mistakenly thinking that using long words means he is intelligent. It's a smoke screen - look at what he actually says: he makes statements he doesn't back up or supports with illogical points. This is Brand I'm talking about, not Mint.

Honest opinion? I read the first two paragraphs and got totally bored with it. Far too many metaphors etc. Also have to agree about the swearing. Blogs are read by young kids. I really don't want my young grandkids reading this. They can read the report in the Telegraph, without the bad language.

I feel obliged to retract what I've said a little now, as the report isn't that bad (not criticising you Houch). I think it's really just the structure that needs a little work, which is hardly surprising given that it appeared so quickly. It's not far from being really good.

Fair play for doing this. But that was like reading a Thomas Pynchon novel. You may want to think about dumbing things down for the Crewe edition.
