I get used to get a lot of shit "you Wernet born in Cov so why do you support Cov"

I was born in Northampton, went to my first game the same year I was born and had a season ticket from when I was 3 to when I was 18 when my old man died,

I'm now living in Norfolk, me and my Daughter both have season tickets, go to every home and as many away as I can. Both have shirts and memberships,

If I'm not a really fan because I wasn't born in Cov I don't know what is ! The people generally taking the piss were United "Fans" that had never watched a live game in there life,

I leave and breathe the Sky Blues, one of the first things I think about when I wake up and the last before I go to sleep. Love Footy in general, it's my thing and I'll watch any footy, live or on telly but Cov are my passion, I love being one of the Sky Blue Army, till the day I die

FFS fans are fans. Haven't we had enough of this shit over the last 2 years to last a lifetime?

interesting question .. probably better suited to a Man Utd or Chelsea forum and let them fight it out. I think anyone who simply answers to the globally asked question ' who do you support?' and replies with 'Coventry City' is a fan in my book. I've been abroad for last few years and haven't seen a game in 3 years - but the the very first game i attended with my dad at 7 years old, the 'whelan 8' football shirt for my 14th birthday, watching re-runs of the 87 cup final and eating my breakfast reading the telegraph sports pages and this forum every morning certainly qualifies me as a fan in my view! Not to mention, my foreign missus cant wait for her first game on boxing day when back!

Well I’ve been to no games, spent no money with the club, but decided to support Coventry today. I’m so impressed with the last 3 wins I’ve decided to jump on board. I was also swayed by the lovely stadium we own, vast playing squad our owners keep throwing money at, awesome atmosphere at our sell out games and our vast history of success and achievements. Guess I'm just one of many ‘glory supporters’.

... one bloke was giving his mate stick calling him a fairweather supporter etc,as it was his first game for a long time and went on to say true supporters don't pick and choose when to turn up but keep going all the time.

I think we have heard it all before and a few posters seem to think 'the bloke' is right.
There seem to be a few fans, who feel the need to build a hierarchy and place themselves at the top.
What I don't understand is why they don't form a club, design a logo and wear it on an armband. This way we can all see who are the true fan-atics.

At the end of the day if you just "try" to go to games and not use excuses not to go and want the club to do well in my book he or she is a City fan.I tell who isn't a real supporter and it's the one who follows more than one club,as to me that's not right, then again that's another thread !

Those of us who were there around 2004 for the 3rd round fa cup game against Crewe. Must have been a max of 4000 people in the ground and we battered them all match.

And still managed to lose 1.0.

Only the people who go to every single game.

The rest of us aren't true city fans and its our fault we don't have a bigger budget and better squad, and should go to games more often.

Apart from if we're doing well, then we're not allowed to go to games more often because we're not real fans. And repeat.

Surely the most important thing is that 'you' consider yourself to be a fan. Once you have made that commitment, you don't care what anyone else thinks!

I try to get to at least one game a year. I'd be really pissed if someone tried to tell me I'm not a fan. It's a long way from Canada.

Grow up you big arsehole.
He does seem oddly obsessed with you shmmee. Everytime you post he immediately comes back with something about the council. He seems to wait all day and night for you to post so he can get straight back on to you, Just move on I say

still very strange

You can tell who are the fans/supporters by reading this thread. Just like you can see who the WUM's/idiots are.
