What a tragedy for those guys from Worthing United at that age ! I noticed as well that they seem to also wear our Nike Kit at Worthing, on first seeing the pictures I thought it was something to do with Cov.

I was on the a27 when it happened, very sad.

Not sure if this picture will come through but my friend was in the black car on the left. The last car through that wasn't hit. Close call.

The twin of one of my ushers is also a helicopter pilot and was there yesterday helping the injured.

I've also played football against Worthing many, many times although a few years ago so didn't know the two lads. And someone I used to work with knows one of the deceased.

Shocking, shocking accident. The A27 runs along the South Coast and I've driven through those lights dozens and dozens of times.

Cov thats a rash statement to ban airshows. Hundrends of airshows take place every yeR across the world giving thousands of people entertainment. Do we ban driving every time theres a road accident or ban holidays abroad when an airliner crashes.

its a terrible tragedy but unfortunately it happens and the nanny state we now live in unfortunately makes knee jerk reactions to please the pc brigade like you have

My first thought was that they were City fans when I saw the pictures. Felt strangely relieved when I read that it wasn't, which is odd since it's just as sad whoever they are if not known personally to me.

Whilst I don't agree with banning air shows, comparing pissing about showing off in a plane to flying abroad or driving a car is a bit of a stretch.

Plus us anyone who utters the phrase 'PC brigade' can usually be ignored.

Very sad RIP and condolences to all of the victims families.
Incredible that the pilot survived that Impact albeit in a critical condition .

Also one of Brighton's groundsman and a fan on their way to the Brighton game killed, terrible for family and friends.

Wasn't he trying to do a loop the loop at the time?

Yep, he'd actually completed the loop and was starting to gain altitude again and it seems the power went and the plane dropped out of the sky.

I actually watched Worthing Utd play a couple weeks ago. It was Newport (IW)'s last home friendly before the season. Probably watched these lads play. So sad.

Nothing PC about wanting to minimise risk to people going about their daily lives. It's not as if it was spectators who know there is a certain level of risk.

More people killed at football matches in the past 5 years than at airshows so lets ban football then hill.

im not trying to minimise this sad and tragic accident but people automatically jumping on the ban everything wagon need to get a reality check and realise that life is a roller coaster and unfortunately these things happen

You've basically said the same thing again.

Typical this, can't moan about City so far this season so let's start a thread about the airshow crash in the CCFC general chat section and moan about airshows.

Fern banning an idiot from football is a totally differnt subject so i cant really see your point. One incident is a tragic accident and the other was a complete prick throwing a bottle at a player. Try thinking next time before you post and you wont look an idiot

Where you got this stat, does it mention how many people attend football matches vs airshows and have a percentage?

Plus if they were killed by other people, that's covered too as murder and the like was already banned a while ago I believe.

I can only think of Hillsborough and Bradford where people have died at football from anything other than natural causes. And of course off the back of those tragedies enquiries were held and changes made to prevent similar happening again.

There does seem to be a fair number of accidents at airshows so it would seem sensible that it is looked into. For example it would be sensible not to be flying over busy road or areas where a large number of people are likely to be.

Now saying there could be as many as 20 killed as they are trying to find out what happened to about a dozen people on foot watching at the side of the road at the site of the crash.

Read this morning the red arrows refuse to do stunts there..

Not surprised, in this aerial view look at all the inhabited places surrounding the airfield, almost any crash could result in a major tradegy.

Mad isn't it, imagine if it was just over to the right in Shoreham on a housing estate or block of flats or something!

To be fair, you could say that about the likes of Heathrow. Planes landing there, although not doing aerobatics, could suffer engine stalls etc.

Don't really understand the appeal of air shows to be honest, can't think of anything more boring.

Luckily they are going to be cracking down on them
