Looks superb was going to do it but then like all things Cov the 'idiot factor' has put me off.

Looks like its an experienced company putting it on. You would hope, given that they know the booze will be flowing, they have security in place to swiftly deal with the idiots.

Is it just people drinking German Beer eating Sausages?

What's the difference between this and the German Market craze?

Actually I think it's a bit more extravagant. Proper clothing to buy/hire, selection of food, beer or wine and they are flying in umpah bands from Germany to provide the live music. The marquee holds 1750. I've been to one of these in Hannover and it was a blast. I just hope the locals see it as a party atmosphere and a laugh and not an excuse to start waging war on each other after too many 1.5 litre jugs !?

I'd probably do it if it was in Germany but not so sure here.

I'd rather they do a day where they get some sand and deck chairs, everybody wears a string vest and drinks cold red stripe listening to Bob Marley.

In Germany they encourage people to eat plenty as well as drink plenty and everyone joins in with the music and communal dancing and later they all get up and dance on the seats.......................it's all a bit like the football on a good day really !

I went to one in Edinburgh last year and i'll tell you one thing...........it ain't cheap for a beer!!

I lived in Edinburgh for a while and NOTHING was cheap....except the racist abuse for being English......that's plentiful & free of charge*

*disclaimer: TBF to the bitter jocks.....it was during the 1998 World Cup.

I wouldn't be that fair to them, every time I've been to Scotland { 8 times} some wit has had to have a go at us for being English, even in a jovial fashion it becomes a bit tiresome.

Seats 1,750 people. We are going tomorrow. It's a family day.

As it's beer and German sausage and i'm a teetotal vegetarian, I can't see there will be much for me there though to be honest.

A glass of organic, wheat free, gluten free, dairy free, nut free, fruitarian German carrot juice for sir!

If they can't provide that then they have absolutely no notion of supplying to the right demographic.

Why have they done it now before the hoards of students arrive back, I would love to have seen them throwing strong German beer down their throats.

We had a great day and night in CV1. Couple of beers in the Squirrel, couple more in The Establishment and a few large jugs of German beer and a sing song at the Festival. The guys running it really know how to get the crowd going. Thought there would be more there but that's typical Cov to be honest, they struggle to leave their houses and support anything most of the time.
