Craig Bellamy and his fucking wanker of a brother who got laughed at by about 60 citys fans in bar at the side of Highfield Road, it was tragic.

It has to be Julian Grey, a winger who was scared to beat his man, scared to tackle and probably scared of his own shadow. I couldn't wait to see the back of him.

Colin Hendry. Although clearly an accomplished player I can't ever remember being so disappointed by a signing. Not because we signed him but purely because he didn't deliver. I don't why it was but he seemed to have left all the attributes that made him a good player in Scotland. Perhaps he lost his motivation for football or something while at Rangers, I don't know. What I do know was that he was clearly a shadow of the player he was before he went north of the border. I think he did OK at Bolton though so maybe he just didn't like Coventry?

David bell- one great goal but nearly 100 games of ineffective performances, a winger with no pace, his true potential was noticed and within 6 months of leaving us he was at the mighty /kings Lynn Town. Cost £500k , i think a lot of Cov fans thought that such a fee meant he would be good and cut him a lot of slack, simply rubbish.

The treatment Hendry received by supporters was nothing short of disgraceful.

The list is endless if we are truthful. I particularly despised the big-name Charlies who came to City for a last payday and failed miserably. Obvious examples are Terry Butcher, Colin Hendry, Tim Sherwood and Kevin Kilbane. The only one of these who succeeded was Dennis Wise but we never learn.

Over the past few years we have had no end of donkeys who you wonder how they ever got professional contracts. Kyle, Platt, O'Donovan, Proschwitz, etc etc etc.......

That 'treatment' was a direct result of his whole demeanour whilst he was with us.

People hurtling abuse at him when he was sitting in the Main Stand telling him "to go and fucking die" - I don't think so.

The clubs fans for some reason really do serve it up to older players who don't do well. Kilbane, Sherwood, Hendry, De Zeau by definition were excellent pros. To suggest they suddenly decide at Coventry to abandon the principals that they clearly had to give them highly successful careers is nonsense.

In Hendrys case I'm sure it had some stupid connection to being a Scot and so let's abuse him as he's a Strachan puppet.

He didn't deserve the abuse you described but he was gash from his first touch of the ball in a Coventry shirt to his last. That's how I remember it. Don't recall anyone getting on his back for being Scottish or any suggestion that he was a Strachan puppet.

Apart from that alleged abuse he received in the main stand (did they really use such profanity there?) to suggest the grief he got was to do with his nationality and not the woeful performances he served up is quite frankly, laughable.
There also seems to be more than a little coincidence with so many senior pro's, ('excellent', as you describe) who turn up at this club and fail to deliver for dubious reasons to be dismissed as 'nonsense'.

Oh there is no alleged about it. Our fans can be pig ignorant at times. All the players mentioned were fine professionals - look at the disgusting comments aimed at Kilbane at the Crewe game - it epitomises the prejudice we have to these players.

Profanity in the Main Stand? God there was one guy who sat near me that constantly abused Joachim beyond belief. He seemed confused. He seemed to think his name was Lazy c**t. I suggested once to him "do you think his middle name is black", he was an aggressive chap and took great offence to being called racist.

He informed me it was because "he was Villa Scum"

He didn't like Colin Hendry much either.

Wasn't there something about a city supporter taking the piss out of Kilbane's disabled child? Obviously when he had a go back Kilbane was vilified as well for daring to defend his family.

Typical football fans who act all big and then cry like a baby when someone dares say something back to them.

Hahaha some tosser near me used to regularly stretch his intellectual capacities and regularly described Stern John as a lazy c**t. Then one day he lost it and blurted 'John dirty lazy black c**t.'

Hendry was reportedly on big money here. Not saying he deserved any abuse he got but what does he expect? He played like a pub level player on top level wages. He sounds like a bit of a c**t in real life anyway judging by recent news stories in Lancashire.

I was at that Crewe game, sat down with head in hands, reeling from that particular performance whilst all around me stood. I looked up as the commotion reached a peak and inexplicably had a perfect narrow view through the crowd to witness Kilbane angrily marching over to the crowd and pointing. I had absolutely no idea that some toe rag had aimed a personal comment regarding his family, at him. I think he announced his retirement immediately after the game?
It's subjective of course (as a paying supporter) to vilify a players performance. But that is where it should begin and end - based purely on performance.

I was glad to see MacSheffrey go the 1st time and even more so 2nd time. For some reason he was held up like some kind of God when in reality his limitations, penalty misses and general shit performances towards the end got over looked because he was from Cov.
Doyle,Hughes,Deegan,Jordan Clark,Thornton, the list goes on!
Surprised nobody has mentioned Barton?

Donnelly was it? 1 day go home man.

Paul telfer was also crap for a long while.

More recently it's the kids who haven't been up to scratch but seems harsh to pick them out when they have been chucked in because we have no on else.
