Lameira through balls (7 Viewers)

I love to see a side playing a ball along the floor between defenders for a striker to run onto. I've seen Lameiras do that twice now: the first a very clever delayed pass for Armstrong and the second for Tudgay yesterday which unfortunately didn't lead to a goal. He's worth his place if he does this once per week in my book.

He will be a cracking player after a year or so of first team football .. very creative forward thinking player for his age

I don't understand why Tudgay, didn't put it to his right/the keepers left.

He had a lot of goal to aim at, but chose the wrong option. Took his goal well though, so we'll let him off ;)

Lameira's assist vs Millwall, was fantastic, as he knew AA was offside, and delayed the pass perfectly.

Thing with him is, he seems to miss large spells of the match where he hides/isn't involved but the second he gets the ball you just know he's going to do something. Long balls coming down from a great height and you just know he has the touch to bring it under! He will deffo improve as the season goes on though.

From memory, the Lameiras pass was a different incident, where the ball ran too far and Tudgay had to go right and cross it.

Think hrs missing Maddison to bounce off, compete with, I love his technical ability.
Should we do It this year I think he'll be even better In the League above.
I do think potentially things have changed for him and Job with Murphy's Introduction.

Yeah I think it was the one that he just about got to before the keeper, forced wide and crossed it back into the mixer. Still a great ball. The chipped one on one that he missed came from a combination of Fortune and O'Brien with Tudgay running through the middle. Well worked moves nonetheless.

Cheers trench and pm, couldn't remember exactly :)

What's great about Lameiras though, is his quick feet can go around a defender, when he's cornered and in theory, going nowhere :)

Agreed. I quite like when he gets in those compromising situations as I'm intrigued as to how he will wriggle out! Has the potential to be a hell of a player, just hope we tie him down early enough so we don't lose him on a free next summer (compensation would be minimal I imagine). Certainly one of our shining lights this season so far.

Is he on a one or two year deal?

I assume if it's a one, we can extend it to two.

But if he keeps improving, make it a 3 year deal IMO :)

I think he will struggle once we get into the winter months. His overall influence over 90 minutes is already fairly small and it could rapidly disappear to nothing.

Yea thats right, I'm thinking with Armstrongs pace he'd have been on that pass a bit quicker and be able to get a shot away.

When his form drops though, bring him on for the last 20 or so, to run at tired teams.

Murphy was great yesterday with his pace too.

He seems to drift in and out of the game too much since Maddison injury, he was better when him and Maddison were both linking up dropping into them pockets of space. When he is in the game he looks good, great reverse pass inside yesterday in the move that led to the equaliser as well

He is still young and lacks competitive first team experience to fall back on. The exiting thing is he is just setting out on his career and should develop physically and mentally.

He will probably lack a bit of consistency throughout the season, but I still feel he will make a positive contribution whether in the starting eleven or coming off the bench. I don't buy this he will struggle in the winter months, because other countries have grotty winters too, many have greater extremes than here.

Agree with all this. He won't be consistent but his creativity and flair will make the difference in a number of matches. He is the sort of player that some fans will adore because he does things with a football that many can only dream of. Others will see him as lightweight and a bit lazy and question his place in team. I'm in the former camp...I want to be entertained and excited. He will drift in and out of games but I'm sure TM is already working on that

One of those players that can be so frustrating when he loses the
ball by trying to play that killer ball or beat too many players but he doesn't half entertain. Brilliant to see these type of technical forward thinking players playing for us. He puts in a good shift as well. Great little find by Mowbray!

hes a class act, he also did some great ones to murphy in first 15mins vs southend.

he is always dissapoitned to be subbed off too i have noticed, he like murphy will get better with every game and be vital to our success
