How come it is bizzare? They are the fittest. If they stay at home they may be called up or put out of action. ISIS are bragging about sending thousands here. The camps in Turkey etc seem to have a majority of women and children from the news reports I've seen. Which is why I think we have got it right by taking in refugees directly from the camps, it's the most vulnerable that are getting left behind that need the help more.

Just watched the BBC News footage of Hungarian guards throwing sandwiches to inmates at a detention centre reminds me of German soldiers throwing potatoes to starving Russian Pows absolutely unbelievable:thinking about:that is unless you know the nature of their government. Ok they don't want the refugees but surely they could treat them with a bit of I dont know what the word is now oh yes humanity.

I fear you are right MrT. This has the potential over the next few years of damaging social cohesion, giving the far right oxygen to peddle their disgusting views and breeding uncertainty in the majority who occupy the middle ground. To be fair to Cameron I think his plan to take refugees from camps is the most sensible in that there is some control over who comes to Britain. We have all seen the TV footage of the floods entering Greece, Hungary and Germany where there has been little/no control over who moves from one place to another. The authorities have no idea to who or how many have entered each country.
And yes we need to tackle the causes or the tide will not stop. At what point will sympathy and humanity turn in Europe to outrage, anger and worse? I think as an island we are lucky to be able to at least have some control of our borders.

Ive been in Norway for a month so hardly had time to come on. I've read some some rubbish over the years on here but plenty of drivel by the usual lot. Most of the people we seen on the TV well here anyway have showed pictures of young men in designer clothes with iPads and smart phones. Now that doesn't to me seem they are having a hard life. There's a big difference between refugees I.e ones whose actual life is in danger and the ones who just want a better life whose life isn't in danger. In fact they should be fighting for their country against Isis not running away. Also the poor kid who died on the boat. Don't know if much was said in England but in Norway it was noted his dad had been living in turkey for years and lived a normal life but wanted a new set of teeth hence coming to Europe. Now that about sums up their way of thinking. Also where is all the money going to come from for the refugees and their housing etc... I read out of this years foreign aid budget. Fair enough I hear you say but what about next year and so on? Long term this is going to be bad for the economy and many might throw racist card about but it's not being racist. It's being a realist. For once why can't we have an discussion with facts rather than the term 'racist' being banded because certain people don't agree with the media and so on. On a side note. Europe let a million refugees in (many from Africa too) a next wave will think they have right and cycle will be never ending. Food for thought

Harry, I don't know how anyone could say brining 50,000 refugees into the country is a good thing. Our budget for housing and welfare is being cut so where will the money come from? Also many Isis are openly entering Europe. Great ploy for terrorists. No-one knows who could be entering Europe. As you said, beheading of a British solider on our streets, the bombings in tunsia, the incident on the Amsterdam train. All too common nowadays.

Based on population per head the percentage of child explotation/rape is higher from ethnic minority than white British as is gun/knife crime. Not ignoring explaining. Bearing in mind 81% of the country is white of course it'll be the highest but per head roles are reversed
