Before I read, how did you get into the press area :)

Joe Murphy was our old goalie too :p

No mention of our disallowed goal that was onside :(

Lots of very short paragraphs there mate. Tough to really get into the article if I'm honest!

I do the Chesterfield match reports for a website called the Chesterfield Post as well, so through that!
Sorry, thanks for pointing that out - googled 'Murphy Coventry City' in a rush to find his first name and Joe came up first

Really emphasises the standard of refereeing/linesman in this league. If that was premier league there's no chance it would've been called offside. I know they're only human but that was not a hard decision to call.

The same as Morsy that could have been sent off twice over.

Agree with the above post, the short paras do make for difficult reading.

I think it has the basis of being a solid report. It covers all the key detail, it's accurate - in short, it gives you everything you need. Is is meant to be an opinion piece or...?

Constructive criticism I would give is that it's a bit dull and uses a lot of cliches and stock phrases that you see plastered all over the internet. Nothing in it particularly stands out to me. Wouldn't be afraid to use some more creative language or add your own slant to things to spice it up - though if you'rel writing these for a newspaper/website then the lack of opinion is understandable.

he was flag happy he had a few on both teams that were questionable, shame to he absolutely robbed Kent of what his performance deserved

There was a city player went to ground about 2 secs before that disallowed Kent goal - I reckon he was looking at that instead of following play.

To be fair, it looks a lot tighter at full speed on the replay than the still suggests.

It's a poor decision, its so poor I reckon he wasn't paying attention to the line and he has guessed. I was right in front of it and thought it was onside at the time.

A decent and unbiased report. The use of small paragraphs looks strange but big blocks of writing does stop people from reading it, (some just can't be bothered with big block paragraphs), so you may do this for that reason.

Anyway I'll give it a 7 out of 10 , keep going with it and your presentation and the use of too many cliches phrases will improve. Well done and I'm happy you enjoyed our wonderful stadium that a London Rugby franchise took off us in cahoots from the wonderful and deceitful council

if only we could have the linesman from Burton every week, he had no issues with speed of play, probably only bloke in the ground who thought it was onside, and after many replays he was right
