A good piece that, taken to his role well. I like the fact they are talking about building a better infrastructure behind the scenes rather than purely gambling on loan signings. Nice to hear that TM has the rep to pull players into the club.

I hope this piece also helps manage the expectations of fans in respect to not signing 15 new players every season!!

Brilliant piece, and just as some of us on here said about having to be patient and wait for the right players to become available.
There have been posters who even accused TM of not keeping his word, hopefully now we all understand what is going on behind the scenes.

Absolutely right. We are in a better position than we were last year. We have a set up that should only make us stronger and in our top 3 guys + Gooding the basis to find, bring in, nurture and develop talent.
Of course as a fan I want instant success but realistically what I go up the Ricoh for is excitement and entertainment and a belief that the future is brighter than the recent past. This season TM and MV have this in place. Because of the foundations they are laying I can believe (and not just dream) that top 6 is possible. And if we dont make it this year as long as we keep the back room team we will mount a stronger campaign next
I seriously can't remember a season in the last 20 years where I'm so excited about Saturday afternoons.

Can't fault what he says and I agree with it.

Hopefully the owners/TF/SW will learn and finally understand what it takes to run a good football club, rather than the intransigence and belligerence we have seen in the previous years under their tenure. Best thing they can do right now is to let TM, MV & JC get on with it

The last part of the article is interesting when it highlights the financial problems/disparity that promotion could bring.

You can tell it's a good positive article because of the lack of comments...Ian from France, where are you?!

Great article but have to ask what is the purpose of Tim Fisher or Steve Waggott ? Both taking up decent salaries, why ?

Tim Fisher is a good question but there is still loads of stuff Waggott can and needs to do off the pitch, posted it in another thread the other day when someone asked the same question.

With Fisher as far as I can tell he seems to have had 2 jobs 1) The stadium that he can't convince anyone is going to happen and 2) Getting us to the bottom of the cycle that you don't sell at.

He's succeeded in both cases. No one believes we're building a new stadium and we're not longer at the bottom of the cycle. Surplus to requirements if you ask me.

Following on with SW I take on board what CCFC was saying yesterday and give SW the benefit of doubt and I'm happy that he's earning his wages.
