just watched the highlights on the telegraph website and have to say charles-cook really does look like the real deal.

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...news/watch-match-highlights-joe-cole-10303149

Have watched him up the ricoh and he comes and takes the ball with such confidence & his hands look solid! his distribution is also great ( helped no doubt by the fact he was an outfield player before becoming a keeper - watch his warm ups with the main team, his ball skills are unreal for a keeper! )

Now last night i see him coming out and closing down for one on one body saves, getting up high & holding onto the ball on a long range shot, where many keepers would make the save look spectacular by throwing an arm up & pushing the ball over ( which is what i expected him to do). To have the confidence & abilty to get two hands to it & hold onto it - preventing a corner - is the kind of thing that takes the pressure off the defense, and its those little things that make the difference between a clean sheet & possibly conceding from the resulting corner.

top marks to this young man, keep him between the sticks!

We don't want to pile too much pressure on him and have too high expectations.

People have been calling for him to replace Burge for months (and at the end of last season), the experience will only help him develop more.

You can tell the defence seem to have confidence in him.

Which is what many were saying about him from the off and what Burge clearly wasn't showing.

That's not having a go at Burge, it's just that Charles-Cook in so much more commanding and in turn seemingly instills more confidence in the back four.

He's looked excellent. He's running off adrenaline from his first run of league games at the moment though. He will dip at some point as all kids do.

Currently though, he's been outstanding. Love his confidence.

I like the fact he always finds a short pass or throw to get us straight on the counter attack.

His kicking is decent and he dont slice it out of play from a goal kick like burge would do at least once a game.

Get him tied down on a 3 year deal with a high buy out clause cause in a few years he'll be worth a few quid i can guarantee that!

Interesting. the mention of him starting off as an outfield player, Glen Huddle was suggesting this was the way to go In future for goalies on the box the other night, may have been talking about Naur
