I am starting to see this as a pretty useful & good indicator now.
The fact is - we aren't streaking ahead...& are at best consistently inconsistent. Although more positively inconsistent than last season.
The worrying fact I am seeing is the momentum that Sheff Utd, Wigan & even Bradford are starting to build - all 3 will be there or thereabouts. The next question in terms of our own destiny then starts to rely upon the question "how long can the likes of Gillingham & Walsall keep their fine starts going?

...onwards & upwards PUSB

For perspective we currently aren't going along like BC last season which Is what we hope.
More like MK. Need more consistency and Internationals don't help. Personally I'd prefer we use our own players more.

IF we win on Saturday which is quiet likely given the form of Swindon. That would be 3 wins from 5 games for October 8pts from 4 games 2pts per game.

Quite simple really...we need to start picking up more points away from home to increase our overall average points per game.

Here's hoping it's at Swindon this weekend which I'm going to.

Don't think it's a shoe-in for 3 points that everyone thinks it will be though.

Philo, does this take long? If not can you stick one up of the games excluding those 3 wins in the first three games? We won them and that's that, but it would be interesting to see the trend without

Only if you also add in all the wins after Xmas when Madders is back.

Don't get it? Just asking if he can knock one up as there is a pretty consistent gradient after that initial spike and am interested to see what section of the chart it falls into.

I reckon we will create loads more chances when maddison comes back too. Would also like lameiras on the pitch more.

Not intended to attack or be offensive to you. I understand what you are saying, just being cheeky and looking forward to the return of the beautiful games we played those first few weeks with him pulling the strings. :)

Haha same!! We're definitely missing him and I hope he falls straight back into it when he's back. It shows how far we've come though doesn't it that even without arguably our most important player we are where we are! ☺

Totally correct.

How many predicted that we would be mid table at best are now complaining about draws that keep us in 4th?

I am a little hesitant to do the 'what ifs'. Just trying to give an accurate portrayal of where we are in the league etc without entering into the idea of the phrase: lies, damned lies and statistics.

why does everyone want to exclude the 1st 3 games
All teams have good runs and not so good ones
We need to get a good one going soon, to hold our place in the top 6 as the pack are closing
2 wins at home and the whole picture looks very different - we will be right in the mix for top 2 with Walsall v gillingham at the weekend.

Anything less than 3 points from the next 2 home games, and then the panic may set in

Times have certainly changed.

We used to have nearly everything to moan about. Now we moan about an unbeaten run as we have draws in it :D

I agree with this - the first 3 games includes the 46 games in a season which we got maximum points from?

Because I want to see the trend after our storming start. Calm down, as i've said, the points are in the bag and that's that, but i just wanted to see where out recent form would take us.

the ignoring of first 3 games is hillarious

FORM MATTERS...BUT I ONLY WANNA FOCUS ON NEGATIVE FORM

16 wins 16 draws and we are champs..bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so we should not look at home form or away form either then as it's irrelevant isolating these things? What's the point in looking at away form as we play home games too and it's the total that counts?

If it were the other way round, and we lost the first 3 games in the row, and then went on a stormer that didn't follow the same trend, i'd still probably want to look at it...

I seem to remember we had to ignore the first 5-8 games of the 2012/13 season to isolate off Thorne, Shaw and robins first game, when we thought we would storm into the play offs.
