Yep. And a team that on paper should have been good enough to win.

Maybe it's me then, but I looked at that team and was all but expecting a defeat to be honest. No surprise at all for me that we lost the game.
Vincelot and Armstrong are key to this City side and having to bring Thomas and Fortune in severely weakens the team. Then we had Burge in instead of RCC and he has a lot less command about him and then you have the bench that was incredibly weak and that left us very little leeway in being able to change things.
We lost too many key players from our squad for the game yesterday from Tuesday's game (Cole, Kent, Armstrong, Vincelot, Tudgay, Charles-Cook). It's not just about starting 11's, it's about the squad too and the ability to change things when needed.
I don't think we can be too hard on the team. Burge and Phillips have both been making mistakes, but had to play and Thomas has hardly kicked a ball in anger in months. We also know that Fortune is no goalscorer and that with Armstrong and Tudgay missing we had next to no firepower.
Think when we reflect it is hard to criticise the team too much.
