George Thomas away on loan too, so he would surely have been in ahead of Sambou and Lateef.
Yes agree, forgot about him.

not backwards logic just logic get us back to owning our team then build it better slowly but it can be done then i may reappear at games at home

Fuckin rubbish today if thats the replacements we have if we have injuries forget the league
Too many players that would just about cut it in the Conference
I did turn up for the game with a cheap ticket ,but there is no way i'd pay 20 quid to watch that load of dross, poor not one had a idea, too much dithering about, if they are the replacements god fucking help us.
Maybe it's me then, but I looked at that team and was all but expecting a defeat to be honest. No surprise at all for me that we lost the game.
Vincelot and Armstrong are key to this City side and having to bring Thomas and Fortune in severely weakens the team. Then we had Burge in instead of RCC and he has a lot less command about him and then you have the bench that was incredibly weak and that left us very little leeway in being able to change things.
We lost too many key players from our squad for the game yesterday from Tuesday's game (Cole, Kent, Armstrong, Vincelot, Tudgay, Charles-Cook). It's not just about starting 11's, it's about the squad too and the ability to change things when needed.
I don't think we can be too hard on the team. Burge and Phillips have both been making mistakes, but had to play and Thomas has hardly kicked a ball in anger in months. We also know that Fortune is no goalscorer and that with Armstrong and Tudgay missing we had next to no firepower.
Think when we reflect it is hard to criticise the team too much.
your delusional we will never have a sugar daddy but we can have a realistic approach and build from where we are by carefulAnd how do you propose we do that unless we somehow get an Abramovic-esque buyer/investor?
Your remarks are not logical, rather ill-informed and unrealistic. Frankly, you epitomise everything wrong with our fanbase.

use of our funds and not wasting money on stadiums that will never be built

You know we're in league one right?I've said for ages that while we continue to operate a policy of signing players on 1 and 2 year contracts propped up with loan deals it's almost impossible to build a settled squad. Every summer we lose a big chunk of the team that has played during the season and we have to start all over again.
i agree with this completely exactly what i have been trying to say
I don't think he's been to a game for years

I think he's the only one here who seems to believe that managing the entire financial structure of a League One club is as simple as it is on Football Manager.
It boggles the mind to consider such people are so out of touch with their own club.
it strikes me you don't agree that a club ran the proper way is better than we have we are getting better but a long way to go yet and i'm not out of touch we are still in premier aren't we !!!!!!!! ha ha ha
I asked you earlier, what do you propose then? I deal with reality, and the reality is, that SISU have indeed mismanaged the club and plunged it further into the doldrums, however this season has been the most positive and productive in their 10 years in control.
Shall we see how this season pans out before we lose our minds over a paltry loss in a cup competition? Righto then.
So you expected us to win despite our goalkeeper being out injured, the only true defensive midfielder out suspended, our top goalscorer missing and 9 players out unavailable? So sub-par performances are perfectly acceptable? Tell that to the people who paid their hard-earned money to watch. The bottom line is that a L1 team playing at home (with an unbeaten record) is expected to beat a L2 team. TM had known the loanees would be unavailable well in advance. And it was TM that named Burge his number one GK. He was also well aware of Cole's fitness situation before he was signed. Maybe Steven's Pressley's bomb squads were not such a bad idea after al,. I can think of a few current candidates.
So you expected us to win despite our goalkeeper being out injured, the only true defensive midfielder out suspended, our top goalscorer missing and 9 players out unavailable?
You also have to add to that, that we pretty much had no other choice than to play the completely out of form Phillips and so too the badly out of form, Fortune and that we had no goal threat, with Tudgay out too.
Okay, fair enough then.
Well for me, because I saw the side we had to put out and could see there was no firepower and very little goal threat in that team.Well, given we played a team who absolutely weren't in crisis, have no trouble with being paid, and are at the same league level as us, then no.
Some of the players unavailable are our choices because of the signings we've made - really don't think we can make the excuse of missing Armstrong and the like... or for that matter Johnson, as we knew what we were getting into when we signed them.
Yes, I did expect us to beat Northampton. Why wouldn't we expect that? Especially given the carnage surrounding their club.
The cliché is well-worn I know but I would genuinely rather concentrate on the league and get promoted.
Plus we hardly have the best record in any cup competition these last few years have we.
Weaker keeper
no Vincelot
lack of goal threat
I agree - We are better out of all the Cups so we can focus on getting out of this Division - the fewer games the less stress on the players and a lesser chance of knackering them out or picking up needless injuries!
Agree - however with a squad as thin as ours the fewer games the better.
One positive to take from the game is what we all knew-Burge is a liability and RCC should be back in between the sticks next game (barring injury).
Hamstring tweak apparentlyHas it been said anywhere what RCC actually did and if he will be back for the next game?
You're right mate, Mowbrays wank. Get rid, would much prefer 3rd Round FA cup to promotion this year, it should've been prioritised. Mowbray outNot particularly relevant. Especially as the rhetoric is around us having a manager who won't let us repeat the mistakes of the past.
This season's designated first choice.
Will grant you this one.
We had the manager's preferred choices on the field. Given the choices of loans, missing games was inevitable, and Fortune is the manager's signing (in fact, a fine example of why it's better to wait rather than rush into signing someone? We waited for him after all...)
I never really understood this argument. A third round place is a couple of extra games over the course of a season lasting months. It would also mean more income, more interest, higher gates, confidence of winning that allows players to express themselves without fear, and the shift to an expectation of winning rather than hope.

To be honest, I quite like Fortune and just feel he well just be on a poor run of form, but he is not a goal scorer. Not particularly relevant. Especially as the rhetoric is around us having a manager who won't let us repeat the mistakes of the past.
