Have the CT got it wrong? (1 Viewer)

We will see in the next few days but it's quite logical that the CT were told an ex-player was coming back on loan and thought it was Ben Turner when it was Bigi?

Not gloating because I do have respect for many at the CT and C&W radio, and realise people do yet it wrong but can anyone see us signing Ben too?

In fairness Andy Turner reported we were interested in Ben Turner weeks ago. I expect this to be confirmed tomorrow.

Mowbray himself said that he'd made progress with a centre back.

Not wrong but they were nowhere with the bigi story

That one came completely out of the blue to the local press here.

This is last GB story in Newcastle Chronicle before the transfer story http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...newcastle-uniteds-forgotten-man-gael-10334089

Can't see anything about CCFC interest, as the Chronicle & CT are both in the Trinity Mirror publishing group I doubt each would hold back much on materiel of mutual interest, in fact I'd expect some degree of cooperation.

This was in Newcastle Chronicle a couple of weeks back
GAEL BIGIRIMANA:

Appearances this season: 0

The case of Bigirimana’s arrested development is one of the strangest at Newcastle. When he arrived from Coventry City he made an instant Premier League impact and looked like the natural heir to Cheick Tiote, whose own stock was high at the time.
What followed was a curious mixture of injury, lack of form, a failure to kick on and an inability to find him the right loan move. Bigirimana certainly suffered fitness problems after that breakthrough season but Alan Pardew didn’t see the progress he wanted – and Bigirimana fell through the cracks.
There was talk of a mystery illness while he was at Rangers on loan last season but he’s now scoring regularly for the reserves. No sign, as yet, of a first-team recall. A loan move might suit all parties.

Also the poll there asking "Has GB got a future at Newcastle" says 36% YES 64% NO

And it is understood that Coventry City are interested in re-signing midfielder Gael Bigirimana, who has been on international duty with Burundi and could feature in next week’s World Cup qualifier against Chancel Mbemba’s DR Congo

The Sky Blues are looking for a defender but Bigirimana is an option for them after having success with Adam Armstrong. Newcastle already have 10 players out on loan but they are now looking to try to strike deals for senior men to give them more room for maneouvre when the January business begins.

According to Andy Turner he's playing another game for Cardiff u21s today then coming over to sign on Wednesday.
Probably a good move by mowbray to see how he gets on today before committing to the deal.

I believe both Turner and Bigirimanna's contracts are up in the summer> Is TM slowly building for the future

Bigi's contracted until June 2017, Turner's does run out in the summer.

Just as well you weren't gloating
