Turner - different class (7 Viewers)

No-one noticed Dominic Samuel till the hour mark. No coincidence; this was shortly after Turner was taken off. His reading of the game, strength, dominance in the air was different league, not to mention being unfit AND getting a goal!
We desperately need to get a longer term replacement in soon for what is admittedly a brilliant short term option

Have to say i was wrong to think we wouldnt start him. I didn't think he'd be that good coming back from injury. But he played an absolute blinder. Didnt see him loose out on a header all game!! Biggi played out on the right didnt really suit him but im glad we didnt take off fleck or vince they ran the show!

Never seen a ccfc team play like that before, am i dreaming haha

He is far too good for this level.

Just hope we can find a suitable replacement when he goes back.

He'll be needed on Tuesday against a big Bradford side, especially with Hanson up front.

Hopefully Cardiff pick up a little defensively! Surely if he has a good week here (yesterday, Tuesday & next Saturday) they might see that as he's fit to play for them & recall?

Sounds like he's not allowed to play 90mins at the moment which could be a bit dodgy if it's tight at Bradford and we have to bring him off after an hour and resuffle the back four

I would imagine he came off after 55mins yesterday so that he could play longer on Tuesday, say 75/80 mins.

He completely dominated yesterday and Aaron Martin was lifted yet again along side him, I don't think we lost a header in the first half along our defensive line apart from the corner we lead to Murphy's 1st goal.

Whatever happens we definitely need a suitable replacement in January and I trust Mowbray to come up with one.

I've got a lot of time of Turner, he has come on massively sInce his debut here. Anyone remember that cup game v West Ham when his mistake led to their winner?

He always looked like an accident waiting to happen; I think it was Boothroyd who saw his potential and made him a first team regular?

Personally I'm just going to appreciate him while he is with us.

Yes it was boothroyd. He started the first game of the season with Turner and Cameron, when everyone was certain it would be McPake and Wood.

Nearly crashed my car when I heard the team announced on cwr.

I would imagine push came to shove he would have been expected to play 90mins in both games yesterday was the biggest bonus, said at HT TM might take him off guess he wanted to weather any Gills torn at the start of the 2nd half.

Turner didn't make a mistake, Carlton Cole fouled him by rugby tackling to the ground and the ref saw nothing wrong with it...........................long before Wasps came on the scene:sarcasm:

wouldnt it be a statement of intent if the club found the money to buy him back, cardiff are a joke and we had our pants pulled down by the sheep shaggers 750k was a fucking disgrace

It's not going to happen though, how much would it cost - £500k fee? Then he must be on c£15k pw at Cardiff as he signed when their owner was throwing money around, we could probably only afford £3.5k pw tops.

I can't see him staying past his initial loan. Sounds very much like Cardiff are in control of how much he plays and he's following a routine to get him up to speed for them.

We need to be looking for the next Ben Turner in January on a permanent contract.

hes out of contract in summer, go on sisu i dare you

There isn't a hope. He will be on a million a year of guess. At least £700k.

Bigiamara is supposedly on £19k a week.

Sure I heard Ben Turner say in the after-match interview that his staying on for 60 mins was premeditated. If he'd played for the full game, it would have been up to Cardiff if they'd let him play on Tuesday as well. As some have said, I guess it's part of the loan deal to aid his recuperation and not to crock him for longer :)
