Surprised so many people have chosen Murphy tbh and even more surprised to see people say he doesn't just rely on pace (implying Armstrong does)

Murphy's default move is literally kick the ball past the defender and sprint as fast as you can.

I'm delighted we have both of them but Armstrong is better, two weeks ago it wouldn't even be a debate and I suspect the last few weeks have greatly influenced peoples view. What would people have said after the Barnsley match a couple of weeks ago when Armstrong banged in his 12th goal of the season and Murphy was still on one? Murphy hits a hot run and people say he's better than Armstrong who has been consistently scoring since the opening day of the season.

Another fun fact, Murphy went 13 matches between scoring his 1st and his 2nd goal

And Armstrong has scored one away goal in the opening away game of the season - and we've won every away league game he hasn't been involved in .

Murphy hasn't actually played down the middle until recently. So it's hard to judge just on goals. If he'd played in the middle all season he'd have more goals.

Personally I think the likes of Murphy and Kent are harder to replace.

Only 3 games without him so can't really draw any conclusive points from that, we're also unbeaten in every game Gael Bigirimana has been involved in which is only 2 games. Doesn't mean he should replace Vincelot or Fleck because we have lost matches when they have played, using this particular logic you are suggesting he should (I know from your other posts you don't believe this so that ends that particular argument)

I'm really happy to have both of them, just think that at this stage Armstrong is the more well rounded of the two, proof is in the performances.

Strictly speaking we lost the half against Gillingham that Bigiamara was involved in.

Armstrong doesn't know how to get a hattrick. Murphy does :D

This is a bit of fun and obviously Armstrong wouldn't come to us on a permanent deal..but if we were to get promoted this season i reckon we could get away with have Murphy back on loan for a whole season with a view to a permanent deal because he's very good an all that but i don't see him getting remotely near norwich's first team for a very long time where with us he'll more than likely be an indefinite starter..

Armstrong for me, Armstrong is a natural striker, Murphy has speed and is exciting, but easier to handle for experienced defenders.

Armstrong is the more natural footballer but Murphy is also very effective at this level. Great we've got both but Arma will go further in football in my opinion.

My guess is next season:
Armstrong = premier league sub
Murphy = championship regular.

Armstrong is what every team needs - a real goal scorer. If he keeps developing (ie staying here for the season) he will go on to be a Prem regular (if Newcastle stay up) and potentially an England player in the future. Murphy is a decent athlete but, as a footballer, not in the same league as Armstrong - decent Championship player but no more.
