He won't, not on his own. If anything costs us, it will be mediocre away form all season. That's not down to one player, poor as he is.

Robins had clearly binned him off. That's my only real serious criticism of Lampard so far, that he's persisted with Collins. I get the reason, Wilson is a bit more old-school and can't play out from the back, but he's also not frightened of getting hurt, or had his confidence completely shot...

There comes a point when you have to accept that picking him based on that fact is to our detriment.

I actually feel bad for him. You look at a performance like that, and you can't single one player out, as they were all dreadful. Everyone else, you expect better from. Collins, though, is a rabbit in headlights; terrified, frozen, waiting for his doom.

I think you're probably right, tbf.

Next season. Wright is nullified up from, but a threat on the left. Playing him on the left gives a much better overall goal threat, even if it means persisting with Simms.

    Equalled it.

No, Wright has to play on the left. That's where he's most effective (by far), and he's our biggest goal threat. We need someone better than Simms.

As should Collins be. We can't stick with him, even with Dovin out. He's a liability. Either tweak the tactics to play with Wilson whilst Dovin recovers or find someone else. Collins cannot be an option.

Nobody deserves a score for that. It was too feeble. Everybody utterly wretched, no exceptions.

Agreed, but the post I quoted was looking to the ref for the defeat, rather than the shit performance.

Most teams that play like that against us gets success. It wasn't a flash-in-the pan result. It wasn't even struggling against their physicality that's concerning, but how easy we made it for them to defend against us.

Blaming the referee for the team's failings is silly, and looking for excuses.

I think it's fair to say that whoever gets the last two playoff places is really not up to the standard required. You can't capitulate against such limited opponents and have aspirations to get promoted. Apart from the fact that we struggle in the face of any team that shows above average...

They don't. They look like a very limited team fighting for their lives, and we look like a team with nothing to play for.
