Love how this thread has posts with wildly different responses, all of which I feel or have felt somewhat even now or over the past few weeks and kind of agree with.

I disagreed with Robins' sacking at this point in the season and still think it's likely to be a big mistake.

Even if it can come across as hypocritical or disingenuous paying tribute to a manager who you just sacked, I'd rather King pays tribute in the programme to Mark Robins because regardless of whether Mark deserved more time or not, his achievements merit that tribute.

Doug has only been here two years and has already made a controversial decision about managerial appointments much like McGinnity did during that same period and I hope it turns out better than that did.

I think King does have a large ego and is clearly willing to make decisions that he feels are right and is incredibly determined that the club be promoted. I personally feel the club's budget likely isn't top six in the league though and he should have curbed his enthusiasm at this stage.

Regardless, I'm relieved that I'm unlikely to have to cringe through listening to Doug's song again and he is no longer the messiah just because he wasn't SISU.

MR binned off AV and insisted on the 'flat' coaching structure we have. Does that mean he has a large ego?
I take King's words about Mark insistence on us having a flat coaching structure with a pinch of salt as we only have one side of the story and I expect will continue to only have one side of that story.

Do I think Mark has a large ego though?

Never met him but yes I think he probably does - I feel he's been pretty ruthless working his way through around 3-4 squads of players during that time to the betterment of the club.

For me, his ego was justified considering his achievements and the same could apply to King depending on how things go.
