Will be interesting to see if trump and Putin end up falling out or the relationship gets stronger after all of this. If they fall out I reckon it’s ww3

As has been said many, many times...it's America, what else were you expecting to happen?

And as I've said many times, the US siding with one of their main adversaries, which they've spent the last 3 years helping to destroy their army, is a big deal.

The dollar's weaker though I think, this is the final throws, all this outlandish stuff is I guess to be expected, don't know what will happen with any of it but.

It's got zero relevance to them exploiting Ukraine, which was always inevitable.

At the moment Putin's playing him like a fiddle. They're openly mocking him in Russian state media and celebrating how Putin is getting everything his way. The question will be what happens if and when the penny drops with Trump.

It won't matter.

Trump clearly wants an alliance with Putin - its nothing to do with being played

Trump’s desire for an alliance is precisely why he’s so vulnerable to being played.

It really isn't - in the end Putin is zero threat to the US - its a tinpot regime.

Trump sees Europe as an irrelevance. He sees Russia and China as the only countries where there is both opportunity and also threat

He sees Russia as a threat even though Putin is zero threat? Do you want to have another go?

Er no - what threat is Putin to the US?

Russia is the opportunity and China is the threat

Putin clearly does not want WW3. If he did, he’d have started it by now.

If he went to war with the US his army would be vaporised before the US had barely put a boot on the ground.

Ah yes, 'elections'.

Vladimir Putin has been talking about the war in Ukraine overnight.

His latest suggestion is for the country to be put under a temporary administration to allow for elections.

This, he said, would then pave the way for peace.

"In principle, of course, a temporary administration could be introduced in Ukraine under the auspices of the UN, the United States, European countries and our partners," Putin was quoted as saying, during a visit to a new nuclear submarine.

"This would be in order to hold democratic elections and bring to power a capable government enjoying the trust of the people and then to start talks with them about a peace treaty."
