More silly talk. The Championship is a tough league because the results are unpredictable.

If you watched the other games today, you'd know how poor the sides are around us.

Had you gone back 3 weeks and said we'd lose to Plymouth and Luton and drew to Hull, you'd never imagine we'd still be 6th.

Collins has made mistakes after mistakes.

I've never been more frustrated at a player before.

He has. Against Plymouth Collins wasn’t our worst rated player which should tell you something.

If the defence is doing its job properly, a GK shouldn’t have anything to do. The positions we were in for Collins to mess up were because of v basic defensive errors. He made his errors but the defence did also.

Which defender messed up today?
You think he was right to come off his line?
And 'a keeper shouldn't have anything to do' is a ludicrous statement about a scenario which has no basis in reality.

This is where he earns his money. He has to find a way for us to win next week, regardless of how. If he can’t get the players motivated for this he never will

Today we showed loads of resilience and motivation to be fair. We have to get key players performing but we are not beating Sheffield over two legs - just can’t see it

No absolutely can't see it. Think getting into the play offs will give us more of a push into the start of next season. Although get to the play offs and anything can happen.

Next week is a must win though.

Collins was heading for MOM by a country mile until he put his mask on and yet again became villain.

But that's it unfortunately, people are clinging onto Collins having a good 85 minutes.

The simple fact is, he has made mistakes in key moments.

He can be good all season but if he makes mistakes most weeks, it means little.

Not according to the owner.

The owner said we are a top 6 squad, and after 45 games we have proven that correct.

However, we have had many chances to cement ourselves into those play offs but too many players have been poor in recent weeks.

The teams around us are no different. The difference in quality between 5th and 20th is not that big.

Said the same, that’s why getting 5th was so important, we still can but it’s looking like sheff Utd if we make it, different level to us

I said that with Plymouth in mind where, for each goal, there were clear defensive errors before Collins got involved. That obviously doesn’t absolve him, far from it.

Today, I’ve laid the blame at Collins’ feet because it was an unforced error from him.

annoying thing today with Collins was why even come for that, it’s not like he’s had nothing to do for 90 mins and thought I need to get involved, he was 1 minute away from showing he wasnt actually a bad keeper, that save was world class, but you don’t remember him for the saves,

Why wouldn't he be able to get them motivated? The home form under him has been near flawless and they've shown motivation to get this far.

Hamer being on form decides any match of theirs. Sunderland though are stumbling into the playoffs like Gus after a stag do, pity we’ve pissed away 5th place.

We could still be 5th

Cus it must be pretty demoralising to lose to two teams in the bottom 3 when you could have sealed the playoffs

The warning signs were there against Portsmouth.
We need to get it tactically right next week .
Fortunately boro needing the win plays into our hands.

If we make it & finish 6th... then the only way we do is that our good recent home form stands up and we go on a mad tear & everything we hit goes in, in a 4 nil win & hopefully kills them off in a 'we'll never win in the play offs' attitude.

I think we will, bristol city lose at Leeds Preston fighting for their lives, could be a draw, win for us wer’e 5th, still a massive ask but 2 games against Sunderland over sheff Utd. Got to fancy it, things could look a lot better after next Saturday 👍

Let's be honest he hasn't showed any tactical nous over the last 10 games, and his record against the bottom half is appalling. Huge doubts about him.
That’s a fair shout, next week, a frustrating draw and getting overtaken by Millwall or Blackburn. Then moaning about refs ain’t gonna sound great.

Having said that, The least he deserves is a summer window and some backing so it’s his team, but I do have reservations.

Getting the amount of late winners we've got shows the motivation to keep going surely? Including Portsmouth.

Seriously. have you seen what he’s had to work with, shouldn’t even be having that conversation, he’s dragged us up to a game away from a play off spot , there’s not a lot else he could of done in the last 10 games different tactically, we Haven’t got the quality to cover the injuries we’ve had

Pros:
1) Raising us from 17th to top 6 (as we speak, but that could change after the weekend)
2) Improving the likes of Rudoni, Torp and overall man management
3) Bringing Grimes in the Jan window - need more tough-minded, skillful players in the offseason

Cons:
1) Persisting with Collins when the rest of the world disagrees (no amount of man management can fix shite)
2) Somewhat limited in his ability to game plan/adjust in game and persisting with the high-line all the time
He hasn't improved Simms so that goes with number 1 in cons..

Shows motivation but our possesion game is getting found out.
sheff utd played it perfectly, Portsmouth tried to do the same but didn't have the personnel.

We also scored against Pompey by going long and Rudonis first touch of the move was in their box. We need to be using that option far more often.
After Sheff Utd beat us they lost their next 3, they dominated possesion in those games but they still got beat.

We had more possession than them in our game but they nullified us and we did nothing with it

Plymouth wasn't too dissimilar.

I just don't think we're very good with certain players injured. People played down EMC injury but I'm taking him and Wright over fucking Simms and Wright all day. The keeper goes without saying and I think the defenders outside of our preferred defenders are very poor.
Could he have approached certain games differently tactically? Probably yes, but I feel like the 'reservations about Lampard' posts based on some form with a decimated squad and with us still in top 6 are slightly batshit in all honesty.
If we actually get top 6 its a great effort.
The only thing that's getting on my tits with Lampard atm is Collins, can't really excuse that. Wilson is also shite though.

We've been poor tactically in a few games in the last few weeks.
I'm not getting bent out of shape about it because when you go on the run we were on teams look at how to stop you and that's happened in a few games, we need to counteract it but there's nothing to say we won't.

But it is undeniable that teams have found a way to play against us.
