We have had some shocking refs this year. But they are not helped by the assistants. Don’t think I’ve seen one linesman (they’ve all been male from memory) make an actual decision all season. Everything relies on the referee. And when they’re rubbish, what chance do we have!

Time to re-surface this? Set your expectations for what he is, an old school solid defender and a leader. Underrated.

Binks is a good player. I know he gets mixed reviews on here, and defensively he needs to improve positionally. But on the ball, he can be very progressive and has great distribution. Also can’t fault his commitment, he isn’t afraid to mix it or put in a big tackle. He’ll improve with time and...

Hate to be Sheaf/Eccles in that line up. Lack of options when they get the ball is going to be scary. Trying to make sense of it, he’s obviously worried about their physicality and tried to count it by bringing another CB in. Albeit he’s then dropped Rudoni, who is a presence physically too...

We looked decent in patches today and that’s a very slight improvement from Saturday. Still no identity to the team and way too many underperformers. Absolutely bereft of confidence. No idea how MR (or anyone) changes that. Too many players look like they either aren’t interested or scared...

Four strikers and none of them have any confidence or ability to control a football. Absolutely infuriating.

Defenders started the game high too - Binks was winning the ball back in their half. We’ve abandoned that and are sitting deep. BTA and Wright are never going to hold the ball up either; their first touch is poor. Best to play channels.

MVE poor defensively. On the plus side, the team look more up for it today. Playing for the manager - hopefully.

Neither him or Wright are the best technically. Way better when they are running into space or can receive it in places they can run at defenders. Pace is a big asset for both. They aren’t going to hold it up, so we need to play smarter ie quick ball.
