    What's your dream car?

Started off with an MGBGT due to the fact that there are plenty around, they are pretty straightforward to work on and there is a ready supply of spare parts, but most importantly as a kid a bloke over the road had one and I just loved it. Ran that for about eighteen months and then got a TR6...

    What's your dream car?

After I retired (with a lot more time on my hands) decided to finally get a classic car. Have to say it is a lot of fun and am really enjoying it, there are lots of shows and clubs that offer support (MVPS) and the driving experience is totally different from that of a modern car, which is one...

    Coffee suggestions

Not sure what you mean but have been very impressed with the quality so far, as opposed to more expensive exotic beans that proved to be unreliable.

    Coffee suggestions

I used to order beans from a company called HasBean, they sourced them from all around the world and they were always pretty good. Then last year suddenly I could not get a decent extraction out of any of the beans I bought from them. Checked my machine, everything I could think of but nothing...

    Cashless Society

Had noticed that car parks were going away from taking any sort of cash and making it card only. Was over at Touchwood today and they had taken it a step further, had to pay to park the car on line. Is it possible to just get a card and put money on it to use as needed?

    Recommend a book

Agree, and Campbell does like to breeze over issues related to the Blair administration but well worth a listen.

Have started reading 'Politics on the Edge' by Rory Stewart. Its an insider account of his time in politics, very well written. He also does a podcast with Alister Campbell (The Rest is Politics) that is very good.

    Best restaurant

Went to restaurant at 'The Telegraph' last night and was very impressed. Although it was a Tuesday so it was no more than about one third full it had a really nice relaxed atmosphere. The food that came out was very well cooked, appropriate portion size and well presented. Had a look round and...

    Retirement

Love reading this thread. Retired a couple of years ago from the NHS, always paid extra contributions into my pension so it worked out pretty good when I did retire. Finacnciallynot a problem and I know I am in a lucky position. I worried that I would miss the interaction with patientsand...

    Things that annoy you

I don't like it, prefer a paper statement, just my preference, but why ask me and then impose it regardless?

    Things that annoy you

A few months ago my bank contacted me and asked if I wanted to go 'paperless' and receive my statements on line. After much consideration I informed them that the system we have been using for the last forty years was pretty good and I would like them to continue sending me a monthly statement...

    Things that annoy you

Was working there when it happened, made me cringe at the time. Tried to subversively re name it the 'Major Tom' ward.

Sausage rolls in a tin, or have I imagined that?

    Things that annoy you

Also the lazy bastards who never put there bin outside of their own house but put it front of someone else's, then leave it there for days after it has been emptied. Put your bin outside of your fucking house, not mine!!
