If it's buy your own beer and tables two metres apart I'm in. Disappointing post from a self-proclaimed expert.

Players we didn't give a chance to and pretty much immediately dismissed - Take no patience

And hospital passes at a time when they were taking no patients? No, not the pandemic. Just poor defending. Were there any habitual culprits who should be featuring on this particular thread?

He gave away 14 penalties in every game! I know we get some bad refs sometimes who don't seem to have liked us much, but 14 penalties given against us in every single game... we must had a great keeper then!

European Football has voted and committed

There is if you disregard the points on the graph that represent goals scored in the cups and against team from lower divisions starting with letters from the second half of the alphabet! Those were the days when you had real players to lambast!

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

The EFL should have no qualms, nor any other team a valid complaint, about us being promoted if the season's fixtures were not completed. We are the only side that would still be promoted if every team were given either their best or their worst sequence of results to fill in for the games...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

A friend of mine in my neck of the woods who is a medical doctor was asked today if he was concerned about the Coronavirus Pandemic? He is due to be on a local radio show tomorrow and shared what what he will say: My simple answer is , "Yep, Things are really ramping up in hospitals and...

    The Final Run In

Oxford's last ten games were W5 D2 L3. Fleetwood's were W5 D4 L1 Ours were W8 D2 L0 But then you all know that! Teams often string half a dozen good results together. It's much harder to extend that to 10 unbeaten with 7 or 8 wins. (Unless you are Liverpool).

    The Final Run In

To answer Shmmeee's question: If all teams' remaining results are based on the form of their last ten games, we head the table by 12 points: Coventry 93 pts Rotherham 81 pts _________________________ Portsmouth 80 pts Peterborough 78 pts Fleetwood 78 pts Sunderland 77 pts...

    The Final Run In

Or putting it less succinctly, if we play like Southend for our last 10 games and average one point every two games, we should finish 8th= with Sunderland on 72 points. If we can manage one point a game like Wimbledon, we should finish second behind Rotherham on 77 points. If we can manage...

27 points left to play for and 7 behind us

Quite right. But 6 wins 2 draws and 2 losses would also be good. It would mean an impressive W24 D15 L5 87 pts for the season and no panic stations if we lose one or two games.

how would our current lot do v the relegated 2012 team

Maybe I've missed the point of this thread ;-) but there are some great names there! Who wouldn't support the likes of Murphy Marosi, Hussey McCallum and Bigi Walsh?! They'd all be Sky Blues Legends!

Championship - How do we stay up?

According to my Barnsley supporting daughter, both Conor Chaplin and Luke Thomas are seen as decent signings (especially Chaplin with 12 goals and 6 assists), but it took time for a completely new defence to bed in and they lost game after game before Christmas as a result. They should have...

Championship - How do we stay up?

They also let the core of their solid defence leave (GK and captain Davies, CBs Lindsay and Pinnock) plus their top goalscorer Kieffer Moore), not to mention their manager Daniel Stendel who was very popular with their fans but who was "pushed out" in mysterious circumstances half way through...

Last time we top of Division 3.

Thanks! That was it. It wasn't mid-week! And that is why I made the mistake of setting off far too early and why I also remember feeling fed up. I set off in the morning expecting there to be a bit of atmosphere by lunchtime. The place was asleep! Then I found out my mistake - not so easy...

Last time we top of Division 3.

82 points wouldn't have been enough in 63-64 to be top. Palace would have won with 83 points I remember going to Selhurst Park for a mid week game in the 66-67 season. I was living in Brighton at the time and Bobby Gould scored for us in a 1-1 draw. I can clearly remember the goal. It was a...
