Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Their growth has been amazing and there’s been a real positive impact on productivity as well. I always caveat what I say as none of us can see into the future and things might all be fine with regards debt/debt servicing. Im just a worrier at heart 😊

It’s only important if you struggle to service it. I’ve said numerous times if debts used wisely on infrastructure etc and things that benefit a country long term, no problem.

The argument will be at what cost ? Shmmeee is right that Biden has implemented an ambitious industrial strategy and there is no doubt that it created jobs and boosted gdp over the last couple of years. My question would be the physical cost and the inflationary impact of it which some argue has...

I suppose he is currently recovering/isolating due to covid

Be interesting to know how long ago senior people in the party knew Biden was done and whether they’ve been trying to get him to step down in recent months but he’s refused, or whether they genuinely believed he could limp along, win the election and Harris take over in a year or so

I heard a bit of some US politics expert on the radio the other day and he was saying don’t necessarily be fooled by the national polling, it’s all about the swing states (as we know) and they’re obviously going to be close whoever the Democrats pick as candidate. Plenty to play for still. I’d...

Sounds like he’s endorsed Harris. Presume that means she’s nailed on as Democrat candidate ?

Chuffed for Bashir, great performance. Started to get a bit nervy at 60 for 0 but blew them away. I thought West Indies played pretty well over the test, got some decent players

    Victor Torp

I think he’ll be fine. He was well and truly chucked in at the deep end last season due to squad injuries and after a full season himself. I wonder if after that (1.5 seasons straight threw) they’re taking it a bit easier with him. Technically excellent as you say and great eye for a pass...

Probably needed a bit. It always surprises me how slender a lot of players are but if you’re expected to hold ball up/battle with CBs then it’s good to have a bit of bulk, as long as it doesn’t attract from pace

The problem he is likely to have, as with other incumbents post covid, is high inflation has squeezed a lot of the population so they’re feeling poorer and there are also big housing issues (high prices, market clogged up due to high rates - at 7% mortgages a nightmare for first time buyers or...

    Match day prices

sure I read on another post that if someone had bought all of last seasons aways it would’ve cost under £700. If so, Leeds likely to be making a nice turn…greedy

Thats like saying the prisons have got a budget so may as well send this lot down for five years ?! A financial punishment would be more logical than custodial in this instance…there is no ‘rehabilitation’ for them, it’s a pure punishment/deterrent sentence which I personally think can be...

Thats their problem. If we lock them up it’s hundreds of thousands of additional costs to the tax payer

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Id personally rather a smaller initial custodial together with a significant fine covering costs relating to policing, damage etc and substantial suspended sentence as future deterrent

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yeah, the sentencing does seem a bit out of kilter for certain crimes. The prison system just doesn’t appear to work currently, whether that’s sentencing, foreign criminals not being deported, rehabilitation/ reoffending etc

Don’t know enough about hydrogen as a viable option currently but I did see this https://www.hydrogenfuelnews.com/remove-toyota-hydrogen-car/8565795/ As you say there might be newer better ways in future but I get the impression they’re some way off

Sensible, considered and professional…you’d imagine these are the basic prerequisites for a party and it’s leader but maybe not.
