Thats their problem. If we lock them up it’s hundreds of thousands of additional costs to the tax payer

Id personally rather a smaller initial custodial together with a significant fine covering costs relating to policing, damage etc and substantial suspended sentence as future deterrent

Yeah, the sentencing does seem a bit out of kilter for certain crimes. The prison system just doesn’t appear to work currently, whether that’s sentencing, foreign criminals not being deported, rehabilitation/ reoffending etc
