Match Thread Oxford United (H) [LC] 27 Aug 7:45pm KO

Definitely feel old when 1993 is referred to as ancient history :)

Under MR our away form always seems to start slowly. If I remember right even in our League 1 winning year we didn't win an away game until December! After New Year however we always seem to win regularly away from home. Is that just a coincidence or is it there something in our set up that...

    Referee's!

Like with the Bristol goal, Fadz scored a goal at Norwich last season that their keeper would not have got close to, but was disallowed as one of our players was directly in front of their keeper.

    Summer transfer window 2024

Then we probably wouldn't have signed Gyokores!

You're going to have a widespread spectrum of musical taste amongst 20-30,000 football fans and it is impossible to find a universally liked song. For balance I think Marillion were/ are shite!

Coventry City lose top youngster as Manchester City swoop in

This is the point really. The higher up the leagues we go the harder it is to blood young players into your team, particularly so if our better youngsters get snapped up by others. For the academy to be cost effective we need to sell players we have developed at a decent price. I guess we could...

Match Thread Bristol City (A) 24th August 12:30 KO

MR will probably keep an unchanged team, but I would prefer we play Thomas ahead of Lati.

I'm pretty sure Sickboy doesn't live in Cov, as I don't either. I am proud that Cov is my home town however, and while its kind of ok for me & other people from Cov to slag the place off I do get defensive if others slag it off. I like that united we can celebrate coming from Cov and when we...

    Bristol Away Tickets

You know that you can add them as a member and get them a ticket? They will also start collecting points themseves then! I really don't see the problem!

Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City [LC] Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

Where did you check that? Those requirements seem a bit bizarre given that we won't know until May which players will be amongst the top 10 appearances over the season, by which time its too late to do anything about it. My guess at the team would be someting like: Wilson MVE or Lati, Lati or...

    Are we being “hyped”?

First game of the season notoriously provides little relevance to the season outcome so hopefully the result and performance will be soon forgotten. Lose to Oxford though then I probbly won't be feeling so relaxed about things.

    Updated iFollow

If I remember right any game shown on sky through the red button was also available through i follow last season, so hopefully the same this season. It was the featured sky games and one's picked for international broadcast that were not available on i follow.

Always some strange results first game of the season. Other than that I would be very confident about us winning.

Match Thread Stoke away 10th August 12:30 - Opening day!

Only good thing about the League Cup is giving a run out to squad players. The league cup provides next to nothing in terms of TV and ticket revenues, unless you draw one of the big 6 or make it to the semi final. FA cup is a different matter though and is always a competition we should aim to...

Match Thread Stoke away 10th August 12:30 - Opening day!

Any draw in the first round of the league cup is likely to be 'shitty'. I hope as per usual MR swaps the team around to give the squad players some minutes. Hopefully this year they will still be good to get through, but if not its no real big deal as its a pretty meaningless competition these...

    Sheaf

You've picked out one instance in a game where there's every chance that particular decision was made by the players on the pitch. That season Middlesbrough scored 84 league goals as opposed to our 58. Only runaway champions, Burnley, scored more with 87. Those stats don't indicate he manages...

Not sure that's true. They were scoring goals for fun in the Championship before their play off against us. Carrick was then simply tactically outmanoeuvered by MR. Outside of the parachute payment beneficiaries I think Middlesbrough will be our biggest rivals for promotion this season.

Match Thread SV Darmstadt v Coventry

It never ceases to amaze me the importance with which some supporters put on pre season results even though history tells us they are no indication of the prospects for the season ahead.
