    Renat Dadashov

I can't think what you mean... Definitely a ballplaying defender! Came through the youth team when I took over in D3(L2) & has acted as backup to first-choice Dean Yates & Mike Flynn at CB. Broke into the Eng U21's last season in D2. Now we're in D1 & with the first-choicers in their late...

Over The Hill XI-Take No Arjan's!

Up there with the worst 1-game City career ever? Although Nuzzo might be a challenger for that Tranmere debacle... Talking of Leicester & talking of GK's, how about Pegguy Arphexhad? Only 5 games for us (indeed only 39 league games in his entire career, amazingly), but he did win a UEFA Cup...

    Jude Bellingham

His dad was one hell of a goalscorer in nonleague & is a copper-good genes & should keep him on the straight & narrow! His dad always plays down his own ability as just being a goal-hanger, but he's one who I would have loved to see play in the league. Just a natural goalscorer. Good article...

    Gustavo Hamer - CONFIRMED

You need to stick a few red herrings out there though don't you, can't have people cottoning on...

    Gustavo Hamer - CONFIRMED

Think it was a bid to try & squeeze Huckerby, Moldovan & Dion into the same side? Back on-topic, woooo-hooo! Definite statement of intent with this signing. Hope we've got a Boateng rather than a Cairo, but reputation seems extremely good & he's young & hungry.

I can guess who your vote for at LB is!

Over The Hill XI-Take No Arjan's!

Good call for a weak position. Remind me, was it Adams that blamed "The board made me sell Jamie Scowcroft" for getting him the sack? Like he was ever the man we built the team around, eh? Joachim would be good for right wing if he had been a FR like he always was in Champ Manager back then!

That will be the one, then. Never has a player shown such class above his regular contribution in just one game.

Over The Hill XI-Take No Arjan's!

Did ponder Isaias as he had been Benfica's star man when they were good, but he showed flashes for us & I think we can blame Big Ron for not using him properly! Jackson is a very good shout, what was that all about...the man Craig Brown chose above Ally McCoist for World Cup 98 too, oops...

Now that is a cracker! When you're making fans think Willo and Shawsy weren't so bad, you're going some. He spent far too much time on his curling... Due to the heights he reached compared to the depths he plummetted, he might take Arjan's place in my XI.

Remember Jansen scoring a cracker. We were probably the last side to see him play with a bit of confidence, sadly. Carbonari is a decent one-I thought he was a decent signing at the time as he was popular with the Derby fans (and noway near as old as I thought at the time either), but he was...

On gulf between ability & that with us, hard to argue against Shilts! I guess the total lack of games makes him harder to pick (ditto Pressman?). The stubborn old bugger kept going until he was 47 until he finally got his elusive 1,000th game at Leyton Orient. Bet Barry Hearn was chairman then...

Over The Hill XI-Take No Arjan's!

Did struggle to think of GK's-the Oggy longevity meant we didn't have many others to choose from for most of my childhood and teenage years! I do remember Raddy very vaguely but it was before I was old enough to go to games. Can remember my dad saying he was crap, though. Cameron is a great...

Decent shout. Misses out due to smiling a lot & just looking delighted to be here!

True, but generally he was a winger converted to wing-back later on in his career, but think he was midfield in this game!: Crystal Palace v Coventry City, 20 September 2005 Only picked him due to lack of options though, there must have been other over the hill right wingers we had...

Players you didn't like till they signed for CCFC

Rumour I heard was that he'd shagged Micky Gynn's missus! Contrary to usskyblue, I remember it that he was abysmal up front first, then a revelation when moved into midfield in that attacking line up you mention? EDIT: After Smith's time? Williams is who you're thinking of!

Players you didn't like till they signed for CCFC

Funnily enough, I know exactly what you mean. I had a bit of a thing against Liverpool players who weren't really good enough for Liverpool IMO as a kid (Barry Venison & Gary Ablett were others) but thought both were decent at City.

Over The Hill XI-Take No Arjan's!

Yeah my point is kinda the gap between between peak and what they were at City though, tbf. He was amazingly unfit-didn't he hold the record for the most substitued Premier League player too? Not disputing that it was fun & he helped the youngsters.
