Obviously shit performances need addressing but a point away to a difficult side when you’ve played shit is decent tbf. We can appear so soft yet grind out a result. (Yeah I know we lost at Stoke)
It really is a CM signing, Sheaf back and tweaks needed and we’ll be good.
Not sure I agree Biggy that he was a special athlete. He did sometimes go missing in games, including the playoff final. I know he assisted Gus but I don’t recall him being involved once. Engine wise I wouldn’t say he’s special, just fit and not injury prone I’d say.
I used to want us to sign 10-12 players every window thinking that was the recipe for success when he rarely works. 3-5 signings max to ‘add’ to what you have is what works, most of the time.
Fancied Boro lose to a promoted team. Luton lose heavily and draw in opening two. We’re not as bad or doing as bad as we sometimes think.
Annoyed at Stoke but we’ve bounced back with 2 wins. Just tweaks needed.
Could have easily scored 4 last night and should have assisted Simms but just played too hard across the box.
I know Oxford can take courage from the game but with 63% odd possession and 3 goals as well as many, many chances, last night could have easily been 7-2
Good squad player to have. Whether he’s a starter remains unknown for me. Had we brought in a Browne or Stamenic along with a fit Sheaf, Eccles doesn’t get in. Again, another player we may end up outgrowing but I also feel a bit harsh saying this.
Great performance generally, just got to stop the soft goals. MVE was brilliant and Wright was a Ballache for them all game. Simms quiet tbf but happy with that. Just need to sure up at the back.
Norwich have conceded 5 in their two so I’m not convinced Oxford are world beaters.
regardless, if we want top 6, we have to beat promoted teams at home.
