It was all going so well for Geoff for once: good City win, Robins was in a good mood, the questions weren't quite as silly as usual, everything's feeling alright.... Then "and any injuries...as far as you're aware?" met with sarcastic ".....as far as I'm aware........". Translation: "What a...

Amadou Bakayoko - Confirmed 2 Year Deal

Oh yeah, he'd had plenty of 28 goal seasons before hadn't he? And that's why he cost us so much to sign, as there was a massive queue of clubs looking to spend over a million on him....no, he definitely didn't improve at all last season under Robins. That's why he's still playing in L2. Duh.

Amadou Bakayoko - Confirmed 2 Year Deal

Very true, but Robins has a good record of working with strikers and making them better players. He transformed McNulty and stuck through him as he knew he'd come good; I know you don't rate Biamou still, but even his critics mostly agree that he was a better player at the end of last season...

Got raised on Fighting Talk on R5! But it was by the Canadian Greg Brady, eh.

    Loaning our players restriction ?

Terry is the last one to establish himself as a regular, yep. There was a great show on R5 a few weeks back that had Josh McEachran as the studio guest and he was saying just that: it was his dream and belief that he could become the first Chelsea academy graduate to follow in Terry's footsteps...

Hee hee St John was another my dad always muttered "nah, was past it" about when I quizzed him about how come he played for City and what was he like when I was a lad.

Ha yes was pondering offering that one myself. I can still remember having a row with my dad about whether he played for City when I was a kid, cos I'd seen photo's of him celebrating a goal for us in a programme, and my dad kept saying "nah, he never played for us". Which he didn't other than a...

Bakayoko is the new Leon Best...

You have to listen to the end to get the lyrics that justify this link, but that's no hardship, it's a great funky song!

Ha, according to Wiki: "Perhaps a more authentic version of this exchange comes from the diary of J. W. Croker, a friend of Wellington, written on 8 December 1818, in which he recounts a conversation with Horace Seymour, the man who carried the wounded Uxbridge from the battlefield. Seymour...

Ha, that's brilliant! I do love Charlie and his scheming. Like a high-rent Arthur Daley. Terrence Alexander also memorable for playing Lord Uxbridge, riding alongside Wellington in the movie Waterloo, and saying the immortal lines "By God, sir, I've lost my leg!" after having it shot off, to...

    Ex Player Watch

Chris Waddle doing the same on R5 in the build up. He bloody loves Maddison, he's always banging on about him-they were meant to be going through the side for last nights game, but all Waddle wanted to talk about was how it was missing a player who could create something in midfield and how he's...

Amadou Bakayoko - Confirmed 2 Year Deal

It's a bit worrying that in his interview in the CT Robins talks about Bakayoko being a "JCH type" forward. So he does seem to see him as a target man. Given that he talks about needing to do a lot of work on him as well, you have to think that he's looked as his height and physical attributes...

Ooh Salako for the Has Beens. Wasn't that old, but the dead man's tendon in his leg wasn't as fast as the one he had in his prime at Palace, sadly. Can play at LB instead of Kenny, seeing as we played him there (stupidly) now and again...

Crime just follows that bloke around, doesn't it? My favourite Bergerac moment is when they have a shoot out, but for some reason-maybe watershed issues?-they don't show any of the shooting, just stills of the various participants posing with guns, ducking, shouting "aaaaaarrrrgh!!!" etc...

Oh maybe Steve Sedgley for the Better Things XI, although Spurs were a bit crap at the time tbh and he might also get in my "better with us than where they went after" team.

Tricky one-do the "has beens" have to be no good anymore? Otherwise I would include Roland. If they're totally past it, I would challenge Kenny Sansom (not as quick anymore but very solid in his first season, could whip a cross in still and was a big part of the magical Christmas hammerings of...

Talking of which, doesn't Rosemary and Thyme have a totally a ridiculous premise? What, we're supposed to believe that a late middle aged Felicity "Treacle" Kendall and Pam "ooooooooooooh!!!" Ferris are gardeners who, wherever they go in their empowering 4x4, people get murdered, and yet they...

Nah, he should have dribbled the length of the pitch like George Weah against Verona and score. That's regulation.
