    tats back on the grass

You could be right - I don't take more than a passing interest in Wolves - but my wife, a lifelong Wolves supporter, disagrees. She is certain that he was never the same player after his head injury.

    Sheaf

I will be very sad to see Sheaf go but if we get a proper price for him and spend it well on 3/4 really good Championship level players it could turn out to be good for us.

    tats back on the grass

I'm absolutely delighted that Tats is going to make a full physical recovery from his injuries, given the concern at the time that he might not be able to walk again never mind play football. I really hope that the experience hasn't damaged him psychologically, for it can happen even where a...

    Summer transfer window 2024

I agree with that but we need at least one and probably two strikers, depending upon whether we keep Tavares. We have been lucky that Haji Wright and Ellis Simms have largely avoided injury. We may not be so lucky next year and that is before you consider the need to rest them, loss of form or...

Match Thread Coventry City - Queens Park Rangers Match Thread - Saturday 4th May

I hope we have a really good summer in the transfer market because we need it if we are going to push for promotion next season. We have finished this year 9 points off the play-offs and 32 points off automatic promotion.

    Concerned now

How exactly do you know this? Have you spoken to the player and senior officials at Bournemouth and Brentford? Unless you have I will treat your comment with the same degree of suspicion as the press speculation. I haven't got the foggiest idea whether there is anything in this. I could...

    Concerned now

The press speculation is that Bournemouth and Brentford want to sign Ellis Simms. We would doubtless get a good fee for him but it is depressing that it looks as if we are in for another major rebuild this summer.

Match Thread Coventry City - Hull City Match Thread - Wednesday 24th Apr

Difficult to see where the goals are coming from tonight unless Matty Golden's form returns, which might be difficult given his lack of game time. I would have been tempted to give Simms and Wright half a match each but perhaps he will bring both of them on around the 60 minute mark.

I think that's worth a try. It could be brilliant if it works, although I accept that it might not.

Match Thread Coventry City v Manchester United - FA Cup Semi-Final

I'm gutted but equally very proud of the club, the players and the fans. A magnificent performance today and the whole world knows we deserved to win.

    Cricket 2024

We currently have four batsmen in the top seven in the Championship averages 😊 Sadly we don't have a bowler in the top seventeen ☹️

Possibly but both Waitrose and John Lewis have a strong online presence.

Anything is possible but interestingly, under Andy Street's leadership, they were doing very well after the financial crash.

Ah, so he's a politician then! 🙂 I think they are pretty much all like that. I guess I don't hear him much because I live in Leicestershire and he doesn't feature on East Midlands TV. I have heard him a couple of times on national radio recently and he sounded OK to me, as politicians go.

I think it's poor management in recent years. It's a great shame ☹️

    United v Cov Predictions

I think we are capable of scoring, so a 4-1 defeat sounds about right to me. But this is football, so you can never be 100% certain. If we play as we did against Birmingham and even worse if the players are overawed by the occasion then it could easily be 6-0. On the other hand if we play as...

    Birmingham City stadium

Why the hatred of Andy Street? The sale of the land will be nothing to do with him. He's the mayor of the West Midlands, not Birmingham. John Lewis, with its admirable ownership model, was a roaring success when he ran it. Its been a disaster since he stood down and I will be surprised if it...

    Cricket 2024

It is entirely possible that Durham could lose by an innings having made over 500 in their first knock!

I'd get very excited if it is indeed Alexis MacAllister. 😊
